FFXIV is just a spectator sport. You can't actually DO anything.

You just described the worst possible way to handle it. I don't think no mortal could come up with anything worse, at least in our lifetime.

You have done something remarkable. For there to be really good ideas, there also has to be the totally bad ideas. The balance must be kept.

Lore wise people are calling this the peaceful times (aka before Yoshi's stated "big change").. but i feel that's just an excuse from players and the developers; it is just a way of telling players to hang tight for hopeful content.

might want to pay attention to all the lore. Lore wise Eorzea is in a state of calm. The guilds were formed to give all the armies, mercenaries, and tradesmen something to occupy their tome while keeping their skills on par. The intro story so far is about the strange occurrences that are leading up to something bigger. Which was how ffxi started also.

I believe it shouldn't be so hard to implement some events similar to how you should get the Astral Candence back from enemy strongholds but in a bigger scale perhaps

In simpler terms, its all BS because the game has nothing for you to do yet. Its nice to think of it in terms of lore but about 600K people pre-ordered this game IIRC and I don't think they cared about "the calm". Either way, that's long done now, and I can't wait to see what is coming.
