PvP?

I hope PVP is a casual affair. having little duels with a friend will be cool.

Context is important. If you wanted to express this, and not make yourself look like you only cared about PvP, you should have added more detail to your opening post. When your opening post is short and not-so-sweet, you leave yourself open to interpretation. As it is difficult to put voice and tone into text by default, you should understand that various people will read your statement in various ways.

Don't worry Eric, people try to justify PVE against PVP but in reality a really successful game will cater to both crowds, and if they don't they're losing out on a huge source of income.

The PVE is pretty linear in this game in my opinion, people do it for the lore. Players like us don't care about a lore and only want a challenge and I agree fully, scripted fights are boring and facing a player that can surprise you is a lot more fun and is more engaging in every aspect.

I'm done with this game aswell until I see a glimpse of PVP. It's getting kind of boring and I'm with you on that.

For a gamer like you? Probably, seeing as how you shot down OP's opinions like nothing and to play a game like YOU play it.

If I am paying for this game I don't think you could tell anyone what to do. They do what they enjoy and that's that. For you to shoot down that he likes final fantasy PVP or have the potential of liking it is beyond me. Yoshida is a huge PVP player, mind you. So we'll see what he does with it.

Games with only PVE tend to die.

So far we only know of arena and the large scale pvp zone (or something like that)...
We don't know if we will get 1v1, it is a possibility if enough people ask for it I imagine. Or maybe it is already in the works and they just haven't announced anything.

However, as previously stated- this is an FF game- FF games have never been known for PvP. As for PvP being one of the most desired functions of an MMO, well... I suppose that depends on who you ask. For me, it's not really my cup of tea. I casually PvP at best.
Still, I hope SE can find a happy medium for both types of players. ^^
