There's nothing wrong with the speed of ranking up. It caps out at 10 and its actual level always matches your own.
I do wish it had less restrictions though, like being able to enter the Duty Finder or being able to level classes through levequests while using it. I pretty much never get to use my chocobo for anything because the game won't let me.
i just want it to actually tank when i have it in its stance and a attack button for it no matter what i have to attack first it will never take aggro off me unless i wait a good 15secs then one move later on my part i take it back
I think the current rate is fine.
there is archivement for kill xxx numbers of enemies, enjoy your grindfest
