This seems to be an all too common problem, "giving" away levels so people can run endgame content faster seems like a huge mistake.
The fate mechanics, exp wise at any rate, are all too reminiscent of the effects of abyssea in XI and PL parties in XIV 1.xx. Granted with fates your chasing the ones that are closer to your level, but the huge exp gains and generally mindless spamfest are about the same. No real practical job/class/role practice, and no reason to want to do anything else to level, it is a recipe for poorly skilled playing.
