This is false. Nowhere is stated such. Adding any more players to the current worlds would be hardware stressful and it's crammed up enough as it is atm.

So let's say my internet goes down and i call my cable company and yell at them. They apologies for my inconvenience and tell me a technician is coming to fix it in 2 days. You mean to tell me they will allow me to call them every 10 minutes to complaint and bitch about it even though they already responded and told me its being resolved. I'm sure they will stop my service and tell me to get internet from somewhere else (I've seen this happen before).

At the end of the day, the game is incredible and everyone wants to play it. I do, but I am fortunate to be able to shrug and go do other things. They know their mistakes, they owned up to it, and they will fix it as soon as they have the ability to do so. Fighting on the forums solves nothing, it's all he said/she said BS anyway. It is and always has been impossible to prove a point on the internet since its conception. Get over it.
So if you've been "denied access", how did you get a character to 23?
Since so many are obviously too lazy to click a link and read, here are some pertinent quotes:
Quote:
On the night following the announcement of our plans to temporarily limit sales of the download version, A Realm Reborn recorded upwards of 218,000 concurrent connections. This is in spite of the fact that the peak login times for separate regions around the world arrive at differing intervals. We estimate that without time zone differences, the total number of concurrent connections would number anywhere from 300,000 to 350,000.
Quote:
Each FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn World server has been designed to support a maximum of 5,000 concurrent connections. This is not the maximum number of characters which can be created on a World, however, but the maximum number of characters which can be logged into that World simultaneously. When more than 5,000 characters log into a World at once, there is a higher risk of server crashes and login errors. The restoration of crashed servers is usually followed by a rush of players attempting to log back in, which, in turn, puts a strain on our lobby server, and can ultimately have an adverse affect on all of the Worlds.
To prevent this from happening, we felt that the safest course of action would be to limit logins. However, we would like you to know that the restrictions are under constant surveillance. We are currently monitoring login numbers on all Worlds 24 hours a day, and actively removing/applying restrictions as soon as we detect even the smallest fluctuation in concurrent connection numbers.
Isn't it amazing what you can find just by paying attention to that side-bar on the main forum page labeled 'Dev Tracker'?Quote:
The addition of new Worlds, as well as the adjustments to the duty finder servers, will be complete as of tomorrow. We will then enter our final internal testing phase of these features in preparation. If the results from these tests are favorable, we will conduct an extended all-World maintenance on Wednesday (Japan time). Once the new Worlds are implemented and the duty finder server load has been redistributed over smaller World server groups, we believe that many of the login issues that players are currently experiencing will clear.
Bumping this because the threads have been ridiculous. People threatening lawsuits... really? Lol, people take a game so seriously, do you have nothing else to do in life? Again, they said on Wednesday they'd have new servers, it's friggin stickied. Can't people at least wait till then before being this absurd?
The bottleneck for player logins are the servers handling instances and the duty finder, and these are the servers that are being optimized for increased capacity. The login restrictions are in place to keep those servers from being overloaded in their current state.
Just did a read of the front page and only 3 topics weren't about the server issues... The rest are people all making their own threads to complain about the same issue, I guess people really just can't contain themselves.
well in my opinion 1.0 failed due to the same mistakes, I don't see any lessons leaned form the new team, all they did is mess up the maps and made the graphics are worse, how do people consider this re-launch a success I am not sure but I at least 1.0 version was original in it's own way, where as the new version is a copy of many other MMO's and they couldn't even keep up with the basic services .....
this is a complete fallers although I hate to say it but there is no other explanation at this point, the excuses provided are a little too late from the production team.
It makes me feel better. Under the circumstances providing an outlet is the least they can do. Which is why you don't see any of them here making threads telling people to stop complaining. You should follow their example.
It's one thing to vent, and a lot of us understand that. But there is also such a thing as 'going too far'. I think this is why these 'anti-complaining' threads exist. I don't think it's necessarily about apologizing for SE or some such, but more on the lines of trying to keep all the hate from growing out of control.
Although judging from another poster saying there's only three threads on the first page NOT about complaints, I think the anger has already gotten out of hand. I mean, lawsuits? Death threats? Seriously? Like I said, there's such a thing as going too far... and sadly, most of us feel it's gone far past that. :(
