It's funny because there was nothing inflammatory in that post that deserved deletion. SE is about to learn about the Streisand Effect.

It's disappointing that they released news about upgrading the JP data centers first, but they could easily share new news about planned NA/EU server improvements soon (wink wink SE).
JP servers work better because they were used from alpha through launch. NA/EU servers were only used for beta phase 3 through launch and haven't been tested as rigorously. As a result, the NA/EU servers are broken because they aren't set up the same. Adding new servers might not "fix the problem". SE needs to fix the current NA/EU server problems before they add new NA/EU servers. For example, pretend there is a car released with manufacturing defects. It would be pointless for the manufacturer to continue making the defected car until the defects are fixed.
90% of the time I've tried to play this game so far, I've had to spam login, or wait in a queue. It's now LAUNCH day, if they don't fix this within a few days, 3 tops, they will not get me to renew my account, it's unacceptable.
I'm hoping this is a typo on their part because they posted this in the English forum.
Hey Giya ^^ add me in excalibur! (if we can ever log in at the same time lol)
I agree with this sentiment. However, part of breaking in a car is driving it all crazy to test its limits. I think the problem that most people have, whether or not they articulate it properly, is that Square Enix should have driven these (NA/EU) cars more rigorously well before last weekend.
I was one of the vocal, pissed off folks for a long time, but I've gotten over it. There just isn't anything we can do. SE is working hard at the problem, I'm sure. But people aren't wrong to be critical of these kind of oversights which have translated into very serious problems post launch. Just have to sit back and do our best to be patient and enjoy what time we can when we do get to log in.
Having said all of this, if you do actually get into game, its running pretty freakin great. Everything that I did yesterday was rock solid, from duty finder to instances. Very little lag and I think at one point I could see like 500 people on screen.
They could add servers in Japan, mark them as NA/EU temporarily, then physically move the character data to montreal later. There's absolutely no excuse for what they are doing.
@NyneAlexander
Sure, I assume your forum name is your character name?
And on topic, I just thought of something, could the increase in JP servers lead to a merge of NA/EU servers with JP. I mean, that would basically solve a lot of issues.
I mean people have been playing FFXI on JP servers for years right?
