Yes this works, someone helped my just move my chat box. You have to go into cursor mode (L1+R3) then double tap on the General option in the corner of the chat window then just move it where you want it.

It fits my screen, but it's still hard to read for sure. I hae a 60 inch TV so my couch is quite a ways back, and the text is tiny.
