PS3 Game Client Issues

Is any one else having the same issue where the game client screen does not will the whole TV screen which also causes the font they use to be hard to read on the tv? if this is effecting all PS3 users hopefully they fix it soon. I meen all we need the client for is to log in, but it would be nice to fill the whole screen when I am reading any news updates

yeah, this is how it is with me too. I think it's just the way it's going to be. But it is a pain in the neck to read, and very ugly. Do you also have the problem where the borders are slightly cut off, in the actual game? For example, if you highlight the chat menu at the bottom left, there are some options that you can't quite see?

Yes, the bottom of the screen is not scaled right for me either, definitely notice.it on the chat screen in the bottom left. Hopefully they make a way to adjust the screen settings like most games

I messed around with the video output settings on the ps3 and wasn't able to get the client to look any better. I'm going to try tomorrow with the actual game, and if I have any success, I'll let you know. It's another thing (like the client) that isn't a huge deal, but gets pretty annoying over time!

You should see what your Display Settings are in the main settings. If you're using the Composite (Yellow White Red) it's probably doing that because it's only a 520p. If you're using Component (RGB+WR) then it's up to your TV's capability (mine maxes out at 1080i and is set to 1080i). If you're using HDMI, I have no idea what the problem could be.

Using HDMI. A lot of games now a days have a setting under the video setting to adjust scaling, horizontal and vertical (or ask you to set it up the first time you play) Hopefully SE implements this so I can adjust it to see the bottom of the chat screen

You should double-check what your HDMI settings on, try messing with them, and then see if it works better.

I'll try tomorrow when the game launches but I don't think that is the issue, all my other games & movies I play on it are fine. I just think SE vertical scaling settings for the game is off a little bit which causes the bottom of the screen to get cut off a little bit when in the game. Don't really notice it much until you go to use the chat screen

I'm also using HDMI. My ps3 wants to display in 1080p, and I'm wondering if this isn't somehow the problem, since ffxiv on the ps3 only runs at 720p. Apparently the ps3 will often upscale games (from what I've read). So I'm going to try to make the ps3 run in 720p (this is what DIDN'T change the client at all) to see if that will help with the game cutting stuff off.

I noticed this too during phase 4.

I don't remember it being like that in phase 3 though? Unless I am mistaken.
