Not being able to buy single items from a stack on the marketward.

Yea I am aware of this, but it makes the actual selling of items very tedious to input the same thing again and again when you want to sell 5 x stacks of 10 for example.

I don't see any harm in limiting a player who has 21 items to only sell 20, thats kind of the reverse of making someone buy 20 when they only want 1 is it not ?

Or is there double standards going on here ?

Also there is nothing to stop said player from listing that extra 1 item on its own.

I would much prefer if we could get some kind of discussion going on about a solution to this mess instead of saying "no its fine as it is" and that be the end of it.

All the current system makes me want to do is:

A. Avoid it for buying mats, forcing me to go out and farm/gather them.

B. Make me only want to sell gear because it's single slot.

C. Undercut your overpriced NQ mats with spare HQ mats I farmed out of spite :o

Here is the problem mister smart guy:

WHY would i sell stacks of 1, 5 or 10, when i have 99 items i want to get rid of? Everyone will end up just npc'ing the items, or selling as 99 stacks, and what happens then? noone buys from market and ends up farming themself.

They need to bring back the option that was present in 1.0 to sell multiple quantities of an item singly, in addition to selling several items as a single transaction. (99, 20, whatever items for one set price)

I agree this could do with being changed, I my self posted this problem on the beta forums. I did read a good idea what another player said their idea was having the option to be able to sell a stack or make it possible to put a stack up and allow for individual item selling.
I dislike the idea of having to buy a stack of one item especially high end materials as these items are high in price and not everyone can afford to pay out 100k+ for a stack of items when they just want one item to make an item for example I'm a blacksmith and only needed one hippogrypth leather but only option I had was too buy three, unfortunately I couldn't afford this so had to borrow money from another player.
Please change this to allow for selling of a full stack and also an option to allow the stack to allow individual item selling as well like it is in FFXI I believe.

Are you saying that I should not actually think that the system is fine as it is?

Having the drop down as an option is fine if you're too much in a hurry for a few key strokes, but as for buying stacks items instead of one item out of a stack: it prevents more and bigger problems than it causes. And it keeps the prices stable and the market open to even small time item dealers. The people who are effected the most by this "stack only" sell-system are the people who sell large quantities of items at once. These are the people who require limits because they effect the economy the most..

I hope you at least understand that.

No system is perfect, but this one is pretty good.

In 1.0 people rarely used the stack option precisely because there was more transactions from the piecemeal buying option.

This market is discouraging that sort of behavior. That's what people are feeling acutely right now. If you have 3 stacks of raptor leather you CANNOT sell all of those in a way that is profitable for you in stacks of 99 and if you break them up you run out of space... unfortunately, we get that message, but we don't know what to do.

What this market system is trying to tell you is to sell smaller quantities of a VARIETY of items. Stop trying to overload the market with just one type of thing.

Quite right. There is nothing wrong with the system as it is now. Sellers just need to adjust.

This definetely needs to be adressed. In 1.0 it was possible to buy single units of stacks that were sold. I don't really get why they changed this, but yeah, being able to buy a single item of a stack is really really needed.

As you can only sell 20 items per retainer, and it's either 20 stacks of whatever, or 20 single items there is something wrong. A lot of people only need 1(for quests or whatever), but I'm not really fond of going back to my retainer every single day and put up another 20 single item just because of that.
