Will ARR have a strategy guide planned?

The problem with printed guides for a mmo is they get outdated very quickly because patches change stuff.

A guide book for a MMO would be outdated after 6 month. Most guides for MMO I have seen are in game magazines.
But what SE can bring is an interactive world map on Lodestone. Something like this:

why in the hell do you need a game guide? play the game figure stuff out, its not hard at all.

an artbook i understand SE could even merchandise it, but a strategy guide. you'd have to be a full blown tard to need one of those for XIV.

I agree, even how a 2003 FFXI strategy guide is useless, outdated, and misinformation. That's why I use wiki sites most of time.

it was a still a cool thing to have >.> its like people who rather buy digital downloads of games v/s those who like to have actual hard copies... i bet you the ppl who hate books like the digital downloads too thinking wasting plastic for box sell is a waste of "resources"

To be fair I lost my copy of Starcraft like 10 years ago. But I can goto the blizzard site and DL it whenever I want. But I gt what you mean, I would buy reference material sure.

If an MMO is alive and vibrant then a hard copy guide is impracticable. Brady stopped printing theirs because it was cost prohibitive to try and keep up with all the changes and content additions associated with FFXI. Hopefully FFXIV will have the same problem.
