True, but that isn't self sufficient. You are relying on A.) availability of mats from other sellers and B.) price they are willing to sell for enabling you to make a profit.

Sometimes one or more doesn't work out. But if you are self sufficient you don't need to worry about it.

There are circumstances where a person who can farm themselves chooses not to because the time it takes to farm materials is not worth the money you would save just by buying them. It all depends on the current state of the market.

Well, as the saying goes, time is money. Sometimes the time you have to invest in farming isn't worth it if you can buy the mats from the market and still make a profit.

And to expand on this, there's always profit on the market. You don't have to make high ticket items ALL the time. 100 small items with the same production cost to profit ratio is still as good as a high ticket item that's flooding the market. Deal in the shadows, buy low sell high.
