Old Players, New Worlds - A problem arises?

if you get that money by vendoring them, yes, then its an exploit, if you get that money by selling to other player,s then no, not at all. Selling to players and infinite vendoring for money is quite different.

you cant make a fortune from selling +1 ores if noone has the money to pay ten times their worth. 90% of the gil on most of the servers has currently been made from exploiting and then gone between players, why do you think their making gil sinks? to get rid of the gil that was made this way of course :P main reason materia was added, so the wards would make the rich pockets less rich, and less gil going around. but vendoring from atomos kinda destroyed that :P

That is kind of dumb, I have a lot of people who want to play with me..and since I am currently on the most populated server it will probably fill up fast -_- Should just let everyone pick fresh..that at least is fair. I don't want to be forced to pay to play with my friends for a server change or even better - have my friends get frustrated not being able to play on my server and then just giving up entirely. Which probably is what will happen.

I am a little shocked (Well not really ) at all the complaining about gil reduction / new servers / new players / bag space.

Its happening deal with it.


You will essentially have the same amount of gil on 11/1 that you will have at 2.0 launch. If you struggled to make gil in 1.xx because you didn't craft gather or participate in any of the other hundreds of way to obtain gil. It is pretty much a lock that you will still have the same issues at launch... new character new server old character old server same issues. Its not for SE to make it even easier for you to make in-game money. They have already provided you numerous ways to do so.

and for all that is holy please don't bring up play time.

I think you have a very skewed view on what exploiting is >< and I don't know if you would find many people that agree with that statistic.

Materia isn't a gil sink. All the gil is redistributed in the economy...

Materia was added as a gil sink, lots of gil dissappears as taxes on retainers every day. You have played since start, dont you read patch notes? shame on you, if i answer another time, shame on me ^^

(if you get 10k from the same leve you got 1m from before, can you call it balanced? the gil from 2 years ago is there still)

Materia is not a gil sink.

Taxes are a gil sink. The two are unrelated to your original point though.

Please do not make me go into detail as to why materia is not a gil sink. It has been proven to death all over these forums.

• Doing a leve, don't break the leve for better exp but finish the leve to get the reward was in your eyes an exploit? really funny you are ^^

Materia is a gear sink. You destroy gear to make materia and you destroy gear if the melding go wrong. Less gears in the game, more gears the crafters can sell again.

you could get conjurer to level 50 in 2 hours, and having physical level at 50 from that made it easy to get next class up.

so... let me double check with this again....
Old players are limited on worlds...
New players are not limited on worlds.

I understand about the gil problem but that's not my concern atm.... my concern is that as a existing 2 year player.. why am i limited to play with only existing players along with a few new players. New players are welcome to come to "New World of Existing players", but why would they come to our server knowing that there COULD BE a lower % of getting parties,gil, Friends, LS. End game would not be a problem but having that beautiful fresh FFXI feeling would be gone.
Example: My RL friend is going to play in 2.0, but wants to have the wonderful feeling of playing with a lot of new players just like in ffxi, And as do i, but with my hard earn character. Why are we, the pre 2.0 supporters being limited just because people have more then a few mil. What do you think they will be spending money on... Level 1-35 gears? no... They will continue to try to make money and build the economy by creating gears , melds, weapons, Foods. New players will also be creating gears but without any experience guidance on price , how can they even guess a price range. I personally don't care about gil, but it makes me disappointed to know that i am being ripped away from my old character should i want to play with only new players.
