All I can do is shrug my shoulders at half your comments. Some of you have been helpful, while some have blatantly been some bitches as I must put it. I started this game in sept of 2010, I played for awhile through some of the shittiest times this game has had. I am a big fan of the entire final fantasy genre and own them all. I still play ffVII on the ps3. I was in a good linkshell when I left this game in 2011, I came back and it was dead, everyone in it has quit the game. i have tried to get with other people since starting back. I either get ignored or hrmm ignored, I'm guessing because most who still play are way advanced in it then I currently am. For the people who pointed out Ul'dah as a place to gather people to party with, thanks for the tip. I did notice that alot more people hang out around ul'dah then the other regions.. kinda sad really, but I will start trying there to find a group to play with who also enjoys gridania.
I think this guy just trolled us.
ITT two people form a group for Toto-rak...
My advice is just get into a linkshell. It's not hard and they're not hard to find. Find one that suits your play style and join it. You can solo a lot in this game but there does come a point where groups are needed, otherwise no one would ever group with others and this might as well just be an offline game.
I'm so glad you explained it this way. It's frustrating to see people complain about the lack of solo-focus when they are trying to do something that is designed for group play. The producers have tried, and succeeded IMO, at making a game where there is a balance of solo and party play. You can't and shouldn't be able to play every piece of content in an MMO by yourself, but there should be enough for you to do to pass your time when not many people are playing.
To be fair to the OP, though: now is probably not the best time to have started playing the game, as many people are not logging in as much, knowing that the game is shutting down soon. It is considerably harder to find people to do lower level quests when there aren't any lower level players getting in the game right now.
