Shucks, sometimes you don't get any gear AT ALL because nothing drops for your job and you lose every greed roll on the other pieces.
Had more than a few Ivalice runs (in a row no less) where my only prize was a repair bill.

i got 3 copies of the minion running with trust before i gotten the piece i wanted it is absolutely absurd
To be fair running with trusts in newer content (late EW patches and DT) is already farming at a disadvantage, because not only is the run slower, you also get fewer loot drops with NPCs.
If only I could trade all the scouting tops that drop for me for someone’s aiming T - T
They really need to implement the guaranteed loot drops for the level cap dungeons of previous expansions at the very least.
It would be cool if we could get a pity system for old alliance raid gear too, like maybe using obsolete raid tokens.
Them not doing this for old "end game" dungeons is pretty weird. I can almost guarantee it's just a flag somewhere in the system and they just never modify it when a new expansion comes out.
I feel both of those need an asterisk, yes Trusts are slower, but also if you play DPS or at odd times, you don't have to wait on ques, for example Mistwake, I can finish it in about 22 minutes and 30 seconds with Trusts pretty reliably on VPR, give or take 30 seconds, which isn't meaningfully slower than a normal que, and might be faster depending on the quality of the players you get, yes you get fewer drops, but also you get everything that drops, even playing the correct role isn't a guarantee you will get it if it isn't Healer or Tank, since a random same role DPS might take the item instead(though vocalizing yourself and asking for it is always an option), so I feel there is a strong argument for farming with Trusts over queing over and over, if that's at all an option.
Shouldn't you get more chances for the gear you want by doing it in duty support or quickly running it with friends?
I don't know for current dungeons, as they can be somewhat relevant gear... But for past ones they could definitely do something. Dungeon gear is mostly just glam gear after a few patches anyways.
They could always take the mogtome system, make one set of irregular tomestones that's permanently available which you get from running old content, they then gets used to buy past expansions dungeon gear.
