With Glam Restrictions lifted, next step: Animations

i would prefer for races to keep their unique animations. i think it would be good though to unlock the gender of them. i prefer pretty much all male idle animations for when you unsheathe.

in a similar vein i would really like if they made unlockable VFX. i played a warlock in world of warcraft, and i was so excited to get my bright green fel fire! you had to get a rare drop and do a quest (if i remember correctly) and then it turned all your orange fire into green fel fire.

so yeah, would love unlockable brand new animations, idles, and vfx. no to making all animations for all races.

i can get behind this actually. keeping things within their races is good.

Too many people who said just this so I won't quote em all - yeah, please let us choose between the male/female animations. I would bet that would make a whole host of players happy.

I would pay to keep machinist's regular shot animations over the "Random Bullshit Go!" Heated versions.

In support of this because it seems the males always get the better animations (esp want the pld and drk idle ones).

I also want more customizable skin, eye and hair tones, cross race features such as auras being able to have different horns or miqo'tes having fangs (moon or sun eyes perhaps even being able to have one of each).

Finally let us use/replace some job animations with older versions/removed versions, I wanna use rage of halone on paladin, Dark knights bring back power slash, bring back Aspected Helios for astro and the best part it would all be optional.

I'm neither here nor there when it comes to race animations like moving or emoting, it's just the typical more options=better options mindset.

The different idles when you have your weapon drawn however I am all in favor of making available to all, just make them be stance 1, stance 2 and stance 3, they could even add new idles for jobs where there is no gender difference (like RPR and SGE) and variety is the spice of life after all.

SE should just get rid of races, gender and everything at this point. Just mix and match everything with everything in the character creator. Hrothgar head with Viera body and Lalafel legs and arms, and Aura tail, for example and wearing Roe starter gear. And letting you choose any animation for every possible situation whenever you want. Also choosing from any of the voices etc. pp.

Retargeting animations is not as much work as you think it is. I know how to do this and its definitely something they could just fit in a patch somewhere as an extra feature. The only thing is they'd need to do some minor adjustments on shoulders and such to make the poses look right. Though some of the animation cycles like the Lalafell walk cycle was specifically animated to cover an amount of distance that looks correct for Lalafell size, so without totally reanimating these they wont look right. Still, I think there's no reason why they can't let us change which emote types and change poses we use from whatever race, since they're mostly just personalities that are for some reason tied to your race.

I'm all for more animation options. Locking them doesn't make sense and feels immersion breaking in the first place since there aren't many major differences between races.
