Which is why we're bringing stuff like this up now. They actually unlocked glam. That took a DECADE.

i agree, if they won't give us different aetherotransformers for guns then we should be able to toggle it off. it clashes with almost every outfit i make and looks silly.
And funny they always come with the "The modders did manage to this already" argument when they just pull a single thing from the whole game and tinker on it -without the need for getting the change approved, commence extensive testing, submitting and having it process through QA- and jab it right back in and it's all good.
It's not. It's only a client-side change at best.
SE needs to look at this on the big picture - And hope the change on a single sprinkle of their cake of the game doesn't make it deflate, blow up or just break.
And one thing that is more annoying that SE not making their stuff work properly is people being insufferable regarding it, even when it's a minor hiccup.
Recent interview claimed the developers would be more responsive to glamour demands so please allow an option to hide the MCH toolbox.
I don't want to use Mods as an argument given that those are not server side. Well outside of that one mod I've seen. The one that lets a person sit just about anywhere.
I don't use mods so the fact I am able to see people in Gridania and a few other places sitting like they would in a chair but instead it's the edge of a bridge or on a rock. It's clearly something possible server side or else I wouldn't be able to see it in action.
So, my point is again the NPCs like Geode, Nostalgia and her sister. They are using the same guns as us just with the toolbox hidden. So, there is a way to remove/hide the toolbox. We just don't have the option to toggle it ourselves yet.
So, my hope is to get the option to hide or display it ourselves instead of it being limited to NPCs.
Yoshi-P straight up admitted it was only him stopping glam from being unlocked, and that the reason is that FFXIV is unique in being that restricted and kids have grown up on games with freedom. It was all about BRAND identity and we can thank the modders nicely explaining why they liked outfit glams for getting it unlocked.
What I wouldn't give to be able to hide that thing. Bad enough we can't be a dual-wielding gunslinger but to have that same box permaglued to my hip for years on end has really soured me on machinist.
