I'm honestly confused about what i think. Tried some CC games, since i only do this, and so far i think fights are way faster and most of the time there's few came back, on one team or another. Some jobs got indirectly up with that, just like a read up above, for my part i hated playing samourai but now i think he's much stronger, since few potions after a burst and then getting a kill was nearly impossible, now the opponent need to choose between getting bursted without replying of use MP to fight back.
So honestly i find this change more frustrating than anything else.
So far it feels like it hurts melees the most when it comes to them staying at the front, but on all classes you just run out of MP instantly if you purify even once so to me it seems that it's been a big nerf to the ability in 90% of the cases. Usually you just purify once and you get the heck out of dodge if possible.
Its hilarious the devs think they nerfed CC with the purify change but its actually a massive buff to CC and MP draining skills. Should just revert purify to how it was before 7.3 immediately.
If they really want to go this route then the first purify should cost no MP and if you want to use an additional purify before the 24 second recast is up then it could cost MP. Or just give us 2 charges of no MP cost purify.
Also 2 seconds resilience is horrible, its like it barely exists. It needs to be at least 3 seconds again.
Yeah the more I play with it the more terrible it feels, and the ability still takes AGES to activate with the animation delays, which is not a new problem, but still means that you get absolutely destroyed when stunned/silenced, and the time it takes to notice, spamm purify, have it remove the effect, you're almost dead or dead already. This on its own is super oppressive and made a huge difference between playing a job with CC and a job with no CC.
Now on top of it using CC not only keeps that oppression, but essentially is equivalent to removing 12.5k health from the target (since you remove them a Recup in terms of MP). Let that sink in for a minute, every CC ability has the potential to have a virtual 12.5k potency of damage attached to it. This is just vile. I don't know if attaching the crowd control mechanics to actual HP/MP resources was such a good idea.
It’d be a pretty good change if mp stealing abilities didn’t exist. It defiantly made jobs with more CC better.
The main issue is how unresponsive purify is. That sucker should be instant. Half the time the stun is over after like the 3rd time I’ve mashed the button for purify to activate.
Resilience should be 3 seconds.
It's so short and with the response time being what it is, even more clunky and actually frustrating to use.
It's changed some elements of CC for sure but I'm enjoying it so far.
