if it IS from the poison puddles, they take up too much real estate on the floor! it's almost impossible to dodge from side to side without touching one of those without basically letting phlegma overcap because of it's bad range, i guess i could run into the boss's model, but thenit'd make it harder to see the orange aoes and when i get the spread i might be making things harder on melees

That just sounds like not really understanding how to target with healing

If I’m moving with WASD and dosis is on 1, then I’ll do 1->F3 to target party member 3->7 for taurochole->1

I’m not even looking at where party member 3 is clicking anything

My friend on Hydaelyn, a reminder from Intro to Gameplay 101: Worry about getting through the mechanic before you start worrying about "uptime" and "overcapping." This is closely related to Intro to Healing 102: You should probably save yourself before saving others. After all, you can't heal anyone if you're dead.

Based on the screenshot you've shared, one of your issues is that you're standing all the way out in Narnia for that mechanic. If you're having trouble going from one side of the arena to the other, one of the logical things to consider is shortening the distance you need to move. If one side of the arena is getting hit, figure out how much of the other side is actually free, and find a visual marker that you can use for reference.

Additionally, I might go as far as to say that if you find it difficult or impossible to use "instants" while moving, that's an issue with how you have your controls setup.

You only get the poison DoT from physically touching one of the two tiny puddles the boss is slamming to produce the other AoEs so it is entirely the fault of melee if that's happening and not something you should be having to worry about healing through normally.

The melee should be staying in its hitbox against the wall so they can get positionals while the mechanic is happening anyways.

If people are dying to the poison, it's because they're doing the mechanics wrong. If you can't keep up to keep them alive, that's on them.

OP, I see from the example picture you posted, that you have some keybinds such as 9 or 0. Please tell me you have an MMO mouse and use the keys on the side for this, because if not those are some horrible keys to try and press (which would explain your issue with mobility). I'm 6'5 IRL and so I have massive hands, and even for me trying to press SHIFT-9 would be a task, especially when trying to move at the same time.

Personally, I use 12345ADRFXCV as my 12 binds as they're all within a single key's distance from my movement keys (QWES, I prefer left/right on Q/E so I don't have to move my fingers as far to reach the 12345 keys), then CTRL and SHIFT modified versions for two more hotbars. I have remapped the two side buttons on my mouse to act as CTRL and SHIFT, so I can easily press movement, a modifier key (using my mouse hand) and an actual keybind to do a spell/action, all at the same time. I'd recommend trying that out (if you have an MMO mouse disregard this)

Which keyboard buttons would be easy for you to press while you're moving around using WASD? You could remap those keys and put your big AoE instant tools there, so you can press them while running without having to fiddle with mouse cursor etc. I tend to move a lot using just mouse and have all my "emergency buttons" on 1-6, meaning I can just press a button (or piano multiple if needed/panicked) and get the casts off consistently. Whatever is comfortable for you can work - you have entire keyboard to work with, and there's few buttons very close to WASD that should be easy to press - QERFCV for example. No harm in trying - maybe there's setup that'll be more comfortable than what you're currently running?

Also, regarding your screenshot, you're standing very far away from the boss, at an awkward angle - including camera angle; dodging a cleave followup from here would require you to run all the way to the boss, through them, and at this angle carefully mixing W and D inputs so you don't run through poison (or rotating the camera, which fully occupies your mouse). See where rest of your party is standing - next to the boss in a spot where dodging big cleave can easily be done by just running through. You know the mechanic, you know where you'll need to move - if you preposition yourself and camera in a way that lets you dodge by using just single button (right next to the boss, looking directly north - in which case A/D are only buttons you need to dodge safely), pressing or clicking other buttons while running will be easier - you don't need to rotate camera, you don't need to run around a hazard, you're moving in a straight line. The trick here is to be proactively lazy - the less you need to do during mechanics, the lower chance something will go wrong; park yourself in a spot where you see everything you need and can move as little as possible, pressing as few buttons as possible.

You're standing waaaaay too far to the side. Look where Wuk Lamat and Krile are in that picture. You want to be somewhere between there and directly under the boss. You have plenty of time to dodge the puddles from there.
