Didn't we already have that before the graphical update? Not being able to set FSR (or DLSS) off in the drop box feels weird to me and makes me think something is going on under the hood.

Oh and about the idea to set the resolution scaling to 99. All that does is let FSR do a tiny bit of upscaling which you shouldn't really notice. But an inherent part (the biggest part) of FSR1 upscaling is a sharpening filter. So basically setting the resolution scaling to 99 enables a sharpening filter. And while that isn't a terrible way to enable a sharpening filter, it's not the best way. For sharpening I would use the Nvidia/AMD sharpening filters (from either driver, gfroce experience, nv app, etc), at least that way you have control over the amount of sharpening.
Oh yes, the UI is weirdly designed. And is sure to confuse people. And yes you were already able to set resolution scaling and dynamic resolution before the patch. They should have designed new menu options, not weirdly force it into existing options.
But still, it does work like I explained. Enable FSR, resolution scaling to 100%, and disable dynamic resolution to disable any upscaling.
I gave 99% resolution another go, and I think I know what the issue is - the oversharpening effect messes with our shape perception, going "oh, oh, important edge here!" too much. I definitely noticed weird edges a lot, and it slows me down with shape-related mechanics like following the footprints in Ktisis Hyperborea. Which is, unfortunately, also unplayable for me, since rapid shape perception for complex shapes is a huge part of decoding animation tells.
And to make matters worse, it isn't even entirely stopping my system from blurring out; it just makes that less likely. :| Turning off anti-aliasing entirely makes the blurring less likely still, at the cost of even worse edges.
I've tried both FXAA and off for antialiasing. I can deal with the shimmering.
What I can't deal with is my character blurring out and then unblurring every second or so. I can see it clearly in the original recording, as well as in the game, but screenshots have a hard time capturing the effect and demonstrate nothing about the frequency.
I have dynamic resolution off and the resolution slider at 100, along with radial blur off, and yet I have this exact blurring issue that looks very much like upscaling not keeping up - and it wasn't there before 7.0.
It makes a lot of sense that those settings should disable upscaling, since going from one resolution to the same resolution all the time shouldn't involve any changes, but I'm not convinced that they actually do so in practice.
Yea, it's the same for me. Disabling or enabling dynamic resolution at 100 scaling makes absolutely no difference in terms of blurriness. Setting the frame rate threshold below 30 makes no difference either no matter what my fps is. The only thing that helped was changing 3D resolution scaling to 99 (with the "enable dynamic resolution" box unchecked), which makes me think there is a bug when the setting is at 100. This is the only setting I have changed with all other settings being on the maximum preset at 1080p, and it looks fine now.
