It's not about adapating to the limitations, but the fact that the "limitations" are questionable in the first place. It's not a "skill issue" if I want my character to wear gear in a color I like. The primary accent is all of the red elements. Majority of the other artifact gear dyes these elements while leaving accent colors alone, which are nowhere near as egregious or limiting as being forced to use the red. Warrior and Bard's smaller undyable details are comparatively fine, as they aren't a notable chunk of the overal gear's color.
Also, "there are a lot of red accents, that's why they left the gradient" is my point as to why it feels lazy -- in fact, if there are a lot of red accents, isn't that more justification for why all of the red elements should be dyable instead of just the collar?
