So what you're saying is because the dev team doesn't read these forums, it's perfectly acceptable to act like an a-hole? This is rhetorical question, btw. I'm already well aware this behavior is the norm around here. The demeanor that is the most on display often reflects the behavior that is accepted. People who act like jerks and push the hate tend to get the most likes and praise, while voices of reason meet the most amount of confrontation and are forced to go on the defensive. It's such a mystery why the dev team doesn't come here looking for feedback. Shocking, really.

Point out to me anywhere it says this is the official FFXIV complaints forum. This is a discussion forum that serves as lightning rod for complaints due to the poor conduct of many of its participants. The truth is it is never acceptable to have poor conduct and disrespect towards others. If it was far more common for people to be friendly to one another instead of thinking about themselves, then far more constructive conversations would take place. Whether or not that creates a well of good suggestions for the dev team to draw from doesn't matter, and to use this as an excuse for horrible etiquette is defeatist and sad.

Complaints will always be more constructive when they are followed with suggestions and an understanding that some people will disagree. And if you complain just for the sake of complaining, especially a topic that's already been beaten to death over the course of years, then you are a perpetuator, a parrot, and that's about it.

How many different interviews with yoshi P and the GM’s saying “if you have a complaint then please use the official forums to discuss it” do you want me to link to you, this is the complaints forum because this is exactly where we are directed when we have a complaint, and then they proceed to ignore us, I’m not saying being an asshole is valid (though your bar for what constitutes asshole is very low if this thread meets that requirement) I’m saying that directing us here only to ignore us is going to encourage this and being the morality police on that isn’t exactly helpfu,especially when on top of that 14 is so overzealous with in game policing that it tends to end up coming out on here, twitter and the various 14 subreddits

Preaching kumbaya is cute and all but it really doesn’t remotely do anything and acting like everyone is an asshole because they get heated that common complaints continue to get ignored while we argue on here constantly is just wildly out of touch, you aren’t the voice of reason as you put it, you just want people to shut up

I'll say what I've said before - if this forum was the Complaints forum, it would be called the Complaints forum. It's not. Yes, it is a place where people can go to complain, though depending on the nature of their complaint, other sub-forums might be more appropriate (e.g. one of the Role sub-forums if the complaint is about a specific role). Notice how you mentioned Yoshi-P refers to the "official forums" - not just Gen Discussion, a forum which has many purposes, namely to discuss absolutely anything and everything about the game.

The poster you are responding to seems to have a very accurate take on what certain people want these forums to become rather than what they actually are. And yes, the OP of this thread fits the associated description perfectly.

So the complaint is general to all jobs- ie level sync issues, is a common complaint and the forums are where we are directed for complaints, where else do you want them to put this. This is literally to the letter of Yoshi’s interviews where this particular complaint should go. If they came onto general to specifically talk about how bad SGE is then you might have a point, but this is literally the perfect place for this thread

People are allowed to be annoyed at changes they don’t like or lack of changes they want and this is the right place to put them, attempting to kumbaya changes literally nothing, you are straight up adding nothing to the discussion, if you really think the discussion here is too “rude or intense” you have every prerogative to ignore the thread, but derailing it with “why is everyone so mean all the time” is just actively annoying and is more likely to make people more annoyed than anything

But why have less if we can have more?

I mean sure, they could probably re-design bosses, dungeons/trials/raids and player kits so that we'd have more buttons to press in earlier content. I don't think that'd be a bad thing, as much as it is an unlikely thing.

But you can also just 'choose' to have more by doing content that's suited to your level. No one is required to run Sastasha on loop for the rest of their lives. It took a lot of Tam Tara Deepcrofts for me to go "y'know what, I realy don't like roulettes, this isn't for me".

I suppose they could just make roulettes expansion specific opt in/opt out, but I have a feeling that wouldn't pan out well.
