MSQ Speculation

Wouldnt it be stupid if the the image theyre hiding is just the Eliminator in the background?

Basically it being a Vegnagun that threatens all life or something. I really hope not because that wouldnt be much of a surprise at all.

Wouldn't surprise me - Endsinger was basically just a female Necron (from FFIX) so there is unfortunate precedent there....

As long as the main story doesn't revolve around them it's fine. It's pretty hard to avoid mentions of them though and it would annoy me slightly if something came up that involved them and it gets brushed off because people don't want to deal with it.

The description for the Hyperstellar Downconverter in Azys Lla suggests otherwise. From page 166 of EE1 (but I think also in the sightseeing log in-game):

In any case, I think the main meat of the MSQ will be Tradition vs Technology, with one faction favors using ceruleum to bring Tural to the industrial age while the other prefers to keep ceruleum technology out of it. Similar to Al Bhed vs Yevonites in FFX.

Nice catch! I admit I didn't notice that one, so thanks for pointing that out!

Of course it doesn't prove there is a lost Battlestar Galactica-style Allagan colony out there somewhere, but... yeah... I do concede the very remote possibility now at least.

honestly it feels like a rip off FFXI's Hidden Treasures of Aht Urghan. THat was the vibe I got from the teaser trailer in Las Vegas. you boated of to the unexplored lands and went from there.

That's a pretty broad concept to have to avoid if doing it is enough to get accused of ripping of another plot.
