I still like having Verraise personally, even though I know it's coming at a DPS cost, but I'd be happy with having it nerfed either with a significant cooldown, or with a much higher MP cost, and in turn having our DPS at least compete with SMN.

Honestly, don't take those last patch buff seriously, there's no more content where DPS truly matter.
It's just band-aid until next expansion.
SMN and BLM will just kill a few GCDs earlier and that's it.
i just wanna poke ppl with my pokie-cane *sad mana has increased by +1*
if we got an Eureka / Bozja in 6.X, Rdm would have shined (a lot more).., but since we didn't get any, Rdm should have been closer to Smn & Blm..)
I don't mind that capacity; I just don't/didn't like being (so) pre-taxed for it...
...especially since the opportunity costs it has right now vary so heavily with fight design (the timings at which bodies are likely to hit the floor [in numbers enough that it makes a difference] relative to RDM's burst timing [and everyone else's, because "two-minute meta"])...
...and SMN's single extra instant rez per minute was so often already enough to meet needs despite it having a higher damage floor and ceiling, both, and a raid sustain tool of its own.
I like the idea of universal phoenix down (with a proper cooldown and cast time, of course) either as a role action or as an easy-to-get consumable, but I'd leave the SMN and RDM raises there, maybe with a 30s or 60s cooldown. Just so that it doesn't subtract anything fantasy wise, as it becomes more of situational utility of an 'improved phoenix down' rather than an identity defining staple used as justification to compromise their DPS.
