I've been in a few situations where I got stuck with a party that absolutely, unequivocally could not complete the content they queued for. They would die to avoidable boss mechanics like clockwork. In those situations, I was really only able to complete the duty because of being able to solo my way through. I would very much prefer not to get pigeonholed into a crippling overreliance on other players in inconsequential content.
If the group screws up on a boss once or twice, yeah, sure, wipe it up so they can participate. Assuming they learn from their mistakes, it's all kosher. But if they don't? Well, why should I be punished because one or two healers and some DPS feel compelled to stand in bad? Three strikes, as far as I'm concerned. After the third, they can lay there and watch while I do it myself.
