Why does Midare Setsugeka hit for so little now? The whole point is that its a huge attack.
Because its a lame auto crit now. Their intent was to remove the high and low DPS variants due to the nature of how crits work so they made all the casted skills auto crit to make the job more consistent. I'd rather have the DPS variance back over consistency. Getting big crits was fun.
One fewer hotkey, good its gone.

Nice edit for a one liner. In fact most your posts are all one liners...
Incase you meant your comment for GNB's and not Samurai's Kaiten? the Tank section is over here -> FFXIV Tank Subsection. Cause you seem lost... in nearly every post you have made =u=;
This absolute terrible take is the reason why jobs become so dull it's infuriating. It's the same reason Dark Knight feels so mindless because its core identity in its playstyle got scrapped instead of just reducing the APM on Dark Arts. Yet here we are, with DRK having one of the busiest bursts in the game anyway. Except this time, nothing in the job actually feels connected to one another, so it's just mindless spam.
Instead of listening to feedback and suggestions they do exactly this. Remove abilities that have no rightful reason to be removed. EVEN IF the abilities in question are beloved to the players who main the job in the first place.
You weren't using it all the time, you purely used it on your iaijutsu, it's what made Midare feel so good to press in the first place. It turned an ability with a mid potency into one of the hardest hitting abilities in the game, and if it had that good Direct Crit it was euphoric. You actually had to pay attention to your gauge slightly which, if even a little, made the job feel that much better to execute properly. These reasons were the biggest appeals to the job aside of it's aesthetic. Even if you brought it back and it just gave your iaijutsu the auto-Direct Crit it would still feel better than how it is now.
"Oh but Button Bloat!!!" You mean how shoha and shoha II could easily be consolidated into one button? as well as Ikishoten being replaced by Ogi Namikiri upon activation?
Now you just press shinten repeatedly, and constantly. By your logic of "you just pressed it all the time, so it's taking up a hotkey" you might as well delete Shinten and Kyuten and slap their potencies onto Senei and Guren.
Can't it be said about every 1-2-3 combo? Can't it be said about Shinten? Can't it be said about Shoha? about Iai? about almost every weaponskill we have? Where does it stop? I am not against simplifying jobs, it can be a good thing in SOME cases, but Kaiten's removal was certainly not one of these cases in my opinion.
Other then one-liners and low-effortmasturbaiting posts, you can't seem to say much no. You always use every button every-time, making every button pointless based on that overused debunked argument point.
How come most players who want Kaiten to remain gone, aren't even Samurai Players? Any change to Samurai will be irrelevant to you. I don't see us advocating for GNB to lose one or two DPS OGCD's because it takes up to many hotkeys =u=;;
