When's the last time "its current year" was valid feedback.


They have SEVERAL notifications for inventory being full, not just a single one when it actually fills. There's a UI element on screen at all times that shows the current state of your inventory.



What OP is asking for is why we have confirmation boxes on everything, which just makes the UI clunkier. At some point personal accountability has to come into play here.

Nothing about losing an item because you forgot to check is better UI wise than a confirmation.

you know what's clunky? having SEVERAL notifications for inventory being full, not just a single one when it actually fills. It could all be cleaned up with a simple confirmation if you do forget to check your inventory and it happens to be full.

Since that time when the feedback was actually "a temporary inventory, that a player can use while they reorganize their current inventory."
So, as of this thread. It's valid, you're just henpecking at the exhibition of their frustration.

And here we see, you not only intentionally misunderstanding others viewpoints in order to reach a consensus and make something constructive out of this.
but reduce things down to people trying to go at each other.

like many have said in the past.
It's a forum, but many here do want positive change. but not all change is good. but most changes mean well.

Their view for change is in the general right place. but how they went about it, isn't.

I won't assume why you wish to throw those who don't agree fully, as opposing always/contrarian/Bullying.
But not everyone opposing is doing so out of Malice.

Not everyone like that, and most differ on topics.

I didn't misunderstand anything. And I was quite clear with my point. To me it just seems like you are trying to find a really nice way of saying it's whatever, where I believe the OP has a point and it should be acted upon. Plain and simple.

I cant respect you if you are that lazy to not manage your inventory when the game does a good job to tell you in bright red letters in front of your screen when you have fewer than 3 empty spaces left.

And this is why I'm so anal about inventory spaces I keep an entire bag empty most of the time...

I played mmos that released in 2008 that had a better system than this. The ones still going still have a better system, and one allows you to either auto collect it like XIV does but also pick and choose. Hell, Diablo IV is exactly that with the only thing you auto pick up is gold. But of course the GCBTW only ever knows XIV and anything that could be better is in their heads an attack on them personally because XIV can do no wrong.

Hmmm if you cant keep an eye on the current notifications how would a new one be helpful?

It would definitely be a nice feature to have, especially seeing as FFXIV's immediate predecessor from 2002, FFXI, had a little Treasure Chest icon that would wait for you to drop something to make room before depositing it in your inventory.

That said, in the mean time while we wait for SE to eventually (hopefully) get around to this feature, there are steps we can take to improve our own player experience though they may be less convenient.
Some people are content to simply keep their inventory status in-mind or keep an eye out for the existing UI elements designed to help you do that, and may rarely if ever encounter the issue that the OP is referring to. (or if they do, they simply slap their forehead, laugh it off, and keep the memory as a lesson for the future)
