Need advice: static imploding because of cheater.

Good move? Probably. At worse you just scrubbed your progress instead of taken away by a mad 3rd party. Might take a rep hit due to word of mouth but nothing loss if you don't approve of mods and those who use them.

The ultimate question is how do you feel about this. Yeah it might take a little longer to get the win but if you feel like you made the right choice then you made the right choice. Don't let other people dictate how you feel.

If upholding the TOS is your primary concern then sure, go ahead. But it probably wont get you yoship's recognition. Meanwhile you have shown your static that your primary concern as leader is not the group running well but your personal crusade against third party tools. If people stop trusting you as static leader for that reason than that's the consequence for your action.

Personally, I'd be annoyed if I did a hard fight and won only to find out after the fact that a few people cheated. Really lessens that achievement.

If I was a raid leader and I learned that one person in the group is using a zoom hack, I really wouldnt care. Not my problem.

There's literally no risk for the other members unless someone decides to be a complete moron and stream them using the plugins which might result in the other members losing an item or a title. Even then, if you're not a big streamer you'll fly under the radar anyway.

I find the wording disingenuous. They weren't shamed. They went against the ToS willingly. It's just unfortunate that you can't retroactively make people forget what the team was called. SE HAD to make a stance (again). The bullying after is unacceptable, I agree. Also, again as well, it's poor sportsmanship in my eyes and defeats the purpose of the idea of Ultimates after so many people wanted harder content. The path of least resistance is not always the best one.

I would have more faith and trust if this community wasn't full of cheaters, and as the WFR proved, ffxiv raiding is beyond saving

Sounds a bit like normal static drama.

You never kick a decent player without having a replacement.
You could have continued with him while searching (with a different account) for a replacement.
Once you found it you can kick the cheater and continue like normal.

You didn't really do anything wrong - But you didn't really handle it to a satisfactory degree.

Whenever you do something with other people -- As a group -- This should ideally always be discussed with the group at large and the member you kicked to see their thoughts, then you could gauge how to handle the situation.

You're free to do as you wish within your prerogative, but ultimately you took action that affected other people without necessarily getting their consent.

This attitude is the reason you're definitely not fit to be a static leader.
You don't just assume the worst of everyone, you're also blaming the world around for it and scrape together excuses that are solely based on assumptions and suspicions when you don't get the pat on the back for a good job.

You should've set rules before and make sure you're perfectly transparent on them. Especially if you intend to enforce zero-tolerance policies without communicating them. You should've communicated with everyone even if your decision was already final. You should've made sure to minimize the negative impact it has on others by finding replacements in time.
And lastly, a good static leader doesn't put their own opinion above everyone else's.
You handed it terribly on several levels and the consequences are well-deserved.

A lot of people seem to try to make this seem like a norm or something more acceptable, but the dev stance is pretty obvious:

"If the presumption is that this content will be tackled and cleared with the use of third-party tools, then any reason to develop high-difficulty battle content seems to be lost."

The issue overall is very obviously more in-depth than just "tools bad". However, I think most people can also agree that there's a pretty big difference between tools people use for accessibility, such as for disabilities or colorblindness- versus tools used for cheating- providing real-time advantages over others in gameplay instances.

Like I've said, I don't understand opting to do the hardest content this game has to offer and then go far out of your way to make it easier for yourself. It diminishes the accomplishment. At that point it seems like said people do it solely for the bragging rights, and for none of the challenge. In which case I feel that cycle becoming relatively ironic because as this sort of cheating behavior becomes more common-knowledge to outsiders, people won't look at look at those who've cleared ultimates with the 'acclaim' people who use cheats to clear probably want from others. Instead, outsiders will simply begin to think "that person probably cheated."
