My comfort 2nd MMO was TERA.
Since they just closed it for no good reason I have not found a other one.
I wait for the Riot MMO, but that will need a few more years.
I wanted to give Guild Wars 2 a try and played the free? Part.
But within a week of playing people from China and Russia tried to login on that new account.
The Login name and email were the ones I used everywhere gaming related and I only had these problems with the GW2 account.
So I deleted it and never touched that game again.
I play both LOTRO and SWTOR.
I jump into ESO from time to time, but with about 10,000 hours I am somewhat burned out.
LOTRO is my go-to right now. It is nice to play through while you are reading the books. It is one of those no-pressure games. I believe it also has the largest world in any MMO (and it is still being added to, with the most recent expansion coming out a month ago).
I do like BDO, but I would never touch it. The community is vile.
City of Heroes did have a lack of interest. Once it went to F2P, the player base plummeted.
City of Heroes ultimately got shut down because Paragon 'stole' money. They were given cash to produce COH2, but decided not to do so. In secret, they developed some other game in the hope of asking permission later. It failed and, as punishment, they lost COH.

Usually, I return to the latest WoW expansion during the dead periods in FFXIV, but not this time, since they broke my target closest enemy macro. If they fix it, I may go back for a while.
I'm still waiting for Pantheon, Rise of the Fallen.
Going to be awhile, I think. At least at this point, I can forget I paid so much for it.
Id go with GW2, its fun, exploring each zone is engaging, has the best mount system in the genre, has the best transmog system in the genre (imo) and you get so much value for your buck with its only buy once play for free forever model
Been jumping back into BDO every once in a while, theyve been updating it pretty regularly after the ownership/development shift, lots of new classes and some occasional new regions, gearing still a grind/rng fest but theyve added a few optional ways of going about it now.
