Kind of tired of companies coming out in support of the LGBTQ+ community only during the month of June, seems kind of like a cash grab at this point so I don't really care about FFXIV's lack of pride-themed event.

It allows that company to tell their shareholders and donors that they support a noble cause without donating to anything worthwhile, such as cancer research or research into STDs, which would help the LGBT community. Instead, it's the LGBT community funding organisations to make themselves feel validated because they feel worthless inside. It's predatory as hell and worsens the divide in society. It's not that different from EA preying upon people's gambling addictions.Quote:

Many ERGs do these things, which are employee resource groups etc. It gets them funding from LGBT charities which come to fundraising events, and by the end of it, they end up with another mansion, and the average LGBT member doesn't see a scent of the cash but doesn't worry. I don't think they'll ever do an in game event, but Square Enix has had official FFXIV floats in Pride before. I don't know if there were other instances of it, but they had floats in the Sydney parade one year https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/blog/002680.html
Also this month at least on Aether we always have our own in game Pride parades, I imagine you can find similar on Crystal+Primal if you're on NA.
