They may have done right in the past, but lately it seems like they’ve gotten either lazy, or Yoshi P is just too busy with ff16. We literally have back to back problems right now, with numerous examples of it seeming like they don’t care. Between them LAUGHING at the hrothgar hairs, the ultimate comment basically telling healers to f off, the horrid job design and balancing that they clearly didn’t even bother asking players about, to a buggy and completely unbalanced pvp rework, to now, a broken housing system that they themselves won’t just change to instanced housing because??? they wanna die on a hill i guess. This isn’t just random little things, it’s consistent problems that have been adding up over time. Healers have given feedback for 6 years and nothing has changed. Hrothgar players gave feedback and were patient for 3 years and they got shit. People gave numerous ideas for pvp and housing and none of them were accepted.

It was to be predicted. Houses are heavy cost features, they already stated thousands of times that they can't create more houses on the whim.

We don't know much about Island Sanctuary but one thing, that it's not meant to replace housing.
We didn't know anything about PvP and so far it's been a blast. This is the proof that they can do good things.

Wipe your tears and be patient, if you absolutely want a house, there are appartments. It can help you getting practice and you can create something cool with an appartment.

The housing system is a complete Blizzard-tier design. Some people don't think it's a "core system" but the main FF14 website and so much marketing has housing as an advertised system. It's clear they don't want personal housing but that makes up most of the demand and existing ownership. They gave us the raffle we asked for but no proceed to screw it up with a 75% FC allocation and on Lich, the vast majority of small FC plots never had any bids to begin with. They then screw this up by botching the raffle draws and now have to disable the system entirely until they fix it... the drawing that is but the allocation won't change until 6.2 probably. They didn't have to do this but they did and literally nobody asked for 75% of houses to be FC only across all housing districts.

I can understand the anger healers feel about this tbh i mean warriors can basically heal themselves now without any healers even clear a (normal) raid alone. The thing is that most players are casual players obviously so the focus of developement is on making content for them and said content easy enough so that every player no matter how "bad" can do it. If you make extreme hard dungeons where healers really have to keep their groups alive that could scare casuals away.

So yeah, if you want this hardcore content you have to do ultimates where your role actually really matters. BUT (!) i would also like to see more variations like maybe more challenging dungeons that are not part of the msq but where you are actually forced to play your role and where healing matters. I also think that such diversity is still missing from the game and it would be a huge opportunity. Cause if we are honest players don't spend most of their time in raids/trials or ultimates but in dungeons and roulettes and other activities so it would be nice to have more options for harder content in there too.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree, Kiz. I watch the live letters and their passion still comes through to me. I do the content and that passion comes through to me there, too. It's odd you mention PvP as a negative. I've heard nothing but praise for the new PvP. My friends who played the other forms are loving it. I'm even interested in poking my head in. I used to enjoy partaking sometimes in WoW.

It's obvious they've used up their social currency with you and that's fine. That happens. I do wonder why you haven't taken a break. Not a forever break. Just something small. You don't seem to enjoy anything in the game anymore from your other posts, and maybe forcing yourself is making you hate it more.

I do wish we could get something similar about the healer role. So as others have said and I agree, they're not perfect. But nobody is. I've been here 8 years and they haven't used their social currency up with me yet. The things I am dissatisfied with are still balanced by the things I greatly enjoy. Which is why we can agree to disagree. Your views are perfectly valid. I just don't share them.

I think Yoshi P and devs are well aware that players are unhappy with the state of housing. But to even compare him to WoW devs is laughable. WoW devs who have openly insulted it's own playerbase, I might be unhappy with some of their choices, god knows I want my Stormblood Astro, monk positionals and kaiten back but overall this is a great game, great story and fun content with devs and producers who are more hard working and communicative than ANY other I have seen in the genre. They explain what and why they can't do something, they try to do what they think cannot be done anyway, they apologise for mistakes etc.. I am a healer main and the state of healers is making me sad but I can also still appreciate a lot else about the game and it's devs to say Yoshi P is not at all like WoW devs..

I had some great fun yesterday with friends and a group of randoms pugging the unreal and extreme, it was chaotic and a lot of fun! If this were WoW that group of randoms would have either kicked or insta left after one wipe.

some stuff were done right but you cant ignore the blunt degradation of quality in patches despite increase duration and reduction in content(increased patch intervals is not that issue for me though).

everything in EW right now has been a mess and lets include the stuff ignored in 5.0.

- healers gameplay reduced to 1 button spam.
- vierra and hrotager implementation was seriously bad, you had only one gender for each with limited haircuts and also to change those races looks you must use fantasia which still is not fixed for over 4+ years.
- ast only got mana issues fixed at 5.3 and not 5.1(those ast changes were able to be done at 5.1 but didn't cause the only reason i can think of is laziness).
- sch had unresponsive fairy an entire expansion.

EW came and what we still got

- vierra and hrotager still need fantasia.
- whm mp issue a mess with 0 potencies adjustments mades.
- liturgy works only when whm get hit and not a party member, only now at 6.1 u get to terminate the bell(terminate not trigger one pulse....)
- ast has more button bloat in places where buttons could be combined.
- many potencies/mp adjustments were never checked or revised for healers in any way(aero 2 being better then dia).
- we have issues with healers being unneeded in runs which include savage runs due to overhealing added to tanks (except drk)
- drk got his LD changed to work like holmgang only now at 6.1 after years of complaining.
- hrotager got bad hairstyles and not only that they cut their ears to be used unlike every other race that keeps theirs.
- sam got a skill cut off which was a part of their kenki management and the always crit seems to cause synergy problems now.
- smn implementation is too simplified that it can be qualified as a level 50 job and not 90 while still no egi glamour.(while to me it was a right approch in focusing on summons, the system is so barebone it cannot pass for a high level job system in its current state).
- smn carbuncle is now shield only, one step away from being a decoration/ outright removed.
- now housing a system that everyone complained about and a lottery system that was on the works for more then several months, has a major bug that prevent buying even with one person applying.

this isn't about the amount of content anymore ,this is straight out bad quality of content being pushed out on paying customers. what excuse is there for poorly implementing those stuff?

edit: i forgot to add, where are the helments and hats you can wear for vierra and hrotager at?

Please tell me what passion there was when they laughed at the hrothgar hairstyles they showed. It’s not about not being perfect. People talk about how communicative they are meanwhile healer mains had dead air for 6 years until recently and we get told to basically f off. Hrothgar players get a maybe we’ll do something about it but it’s going to take time when they’ve already been waiting 3 fucking years. The pvp is fun sure, but it doesn’t change the fact it’s incredibly unbalanced and it’s buggy af.

As far as comparing WoW devs to 14 devs, correct me if i’m wrong but didn’t yoshi p basically fat shame a cosplayer at a fanfest?

I never got the cult of personality that developed around Yoshi. He's a dev, and can be a good one. However, lately its been far more middling and negative than in the past.
