With how little effort put into Hrothgar hair, I personally can't wait for females!

This whole mess with the "new" hrothgar hairstyles is most definitely a time where we should (rightfully) be furious over such a lazy and haphazardly thrown together collection of possibly the ugliest hairstyles you could possibly put on giant muscular male cats

All the time! But then I started thinking "You know what, it's not that bad. The rest of the game is honestly pretty entertaining, all things considered. Even the casual stuff is really nice. I always have something to do if I just don't feel like doing much". Until...

- Content has become streamlined and "same-y".
- Eureka's first two implementations just sucked.
- Blue Mage was horribly divisive
- Systems like Fellowships that no one use
- Bozja's tone
- Among other things with more or less dissatisfaction.

I get it, people would say I need to take a break. And I likely do. But ever since Bozja I just can't look at the game and find that wow factor about it, and I don't think a break will fix it. It's been feeling like myself and others are nothing more than cash-grabs for Square Enix without the ability to enjoy our own race. It feels bad knowing that when I complain, I'll have to deal with people saying stuff like "You knew what you got yourself into", or "The devs made no such promises" or "They're very busy people with limited resources". Excuses that worked at first... but not anymore. They're NOT limited on resources, this the most popular game SE has at the moment and they're banking on it. Understaffed, sure, but holy hell, where are your priorities then? The Fellowship system? Give me a break! You have stuff to fix, stuff that players will notice the moment they try to make a character to play your game...
They might not have promised anything, but if there's ever anything they've established on PLLs and events is that a) community feedback and support can sway their mind, and b) that they have a standard for the game and want to uphold it. It's why we have no NFTs nor Classic 1.0. Yet why does Hrothgar feel this bad? And I did know where I got myself into. I got myself into a game that asked me to be patient, from a dev team I seriously respected and admired despite flaws, with the hope that feedback and support would do something to help.

It didn't. Instead I feel like I'm left with the world's ugliest April Fool's joke.

For all Square says about wanting the game to be inviting and welcoming to players, wanting people to feel at home and be able to live in this game, this is a step in the opposite direction. Hrothgars may be 2% of the playable population. But we love this game because of Hrothgars. And we feel as much a part of this community as a Lalafell, an Elezen or an Au Ra would. If you'd take over 3 years to address the bare minimum of any of those races' problems, you'd have just as big a backlash.

They aren't perfect. And I know that they do a lot of good to this day still. But if this is what we can expect of their quality from here on out, you all better prepare yourselves. Because it can happen to your races and glamours too.

The number would be far less than what it is now, and we could at least say the devs tried and cared. This isn’t every little thing. This is an entire race hello? Maybe the community is getting mad lately because the devs are consistently showing how lazy they are and that they clearly don’t care about major aspects of the game. A poll gives a way for players to actually have a hand and say in an implementation.

The ones they picked were already a weird choice for Viera and even worse for Hrothgar, but the hairstyle contest was a community vote and a lot of people hate those in hindsight.

Not to mention leaving the votes open for everyone you'd have people throwing joke votes at ridiculous hairstyles that would "look funny" on Hrothgar and you're right back where you started just with added community infighting.

The funny thing is, I was originally just making a joke about how the fans get mad no matter what they do, and you're getting mad about it.

I've made my opinion clear, here and in other threads, that I agree the whole situation with both races is terrible, especially for Hrothgar. I'm not gonna bother trying to explain the joke anymore, because if you're this determined to just get mad about everything and assume everything is against you all the time, I don't have the interest or energy to keep up with it. Stay salty, bro.

Frankly I've always felt it was unacceptable that SE released Hrothgar needing Fantasia to change hairstyles. These new styles removing their ears feels like adding insult to injury. The race as a whole clearly didn't get enough dev time, likely due to the initial development being done at the same time as Viera.

At this rate maybe they'll side step the problem with female Hrothgar by not giving them hair at all like lionesses.

They are probably going to be small and petite, with no ears and no hair because it's too hard too add ears on something. No body either, just a floating head.

I'm super excited for femHroths....maybe for the wrong reasons but excited nonetheless lol.

edit: lol even ffxiv reddit is dunking on them now that's saying something.

Not sure what the point of this thread was, you use most of the OP whining about the male's hair.

Anyway, I expect very feminine bods that are taller than Thighlanders, some level of cat face, and now I'm 100% sure I can expect them to get all the same shared hair as Viera ... so I get to keep my 2B bob instead of being stuck with wonder if "Maybe the hair I like wont be for the face I like!" like I feel about Hrothgar males (Face 3 is the best imo, but that hair sucks).

It's a win in my book.
I can hope that, seeing as male Hrothgar were NEVER designed with the thought of using shared hair, they perhaps take this into consideration for the females designs so that they have their ears in a place that work with these wigs. But I'm fine with the "Cat wig" look, it's pretty much the idea I posted years ago because no one in their right mind would think Hrothgar's restrictions in hair would fly for females.
