Could we have an option to turn off LB3 visual effects?

Like with anything else, if someone keeps getting reports against them, odds are they're trolling. I've seen quite a few 24 mans where LB3 is sat on for a good 3+ minutes until a specific mech that needs to be dodged, then out comes the RDM LB3. On a single boss, with melee in the party.

Then why didnt the melee use it first? 5,000 not guilty cases don't make for one guilty case.

I am fully aware that you may come across trolls who seek to kill the group, but can we condemn all red mages for this minority? A red mage must have impressive pyrotechnic effects and light, otherwise it's nothing more than a simple swordsman making a little light... So, if you don't want to see this tour de force that would make even a black mage jealous, force the cac to use their lb3. :p

I have most battle effects turned off so It'd be nice for this option as well. I understand the need for some visual due to knowing when an LB going off is good (as we're not always in pre-made parties) but not being absolutely blinded by healer or caster LBs would be awesome

Because it's a 24 man and we're not going to get another one, so the general strategy is to wait until boss's HP is low and execute in case we need the healer LB3.

If that happens it's absolutely not on whichever DPS used the LB3, it's on people who failed the mechanic. "Save LB3 for healer" doesn't really have any reason to be spouted outside of ultimate/savage prog.

If you're not using RDM's LB3 to wipe the raid, are you even using RDM's LB3 right?

But no seriously, in most cases if a melee doesn't LB3 or if you have to hold it because your party is just that bad in regular content that you're most likely going to wipe without healer LB3, a RDM LB3 blinding the screen is the least of your worries.

Is there a rule against using LB? If melee was meant to use the LB why didn't they? Can I report them for not using a ability? Etc . . . I do not think a GM would want to go down that route of doling out punishment for using an ability.

I mean I think it falls in the same realm as rescue sure allegedly people have been punished for their use but broadly speaking I am sure those that punt punished are so few are far in between and also prob say something afterwards that incriminated them.

I just do not see SE punishing players without hard evidence not just a pattern. Their history also supports this stance.

It's a common practice to hold LB3 unless you can get two in case you need the healer LB3. It's a pug, entire parties die in 24 mans all the time, you have no idea how many people in your group know the fights etc. This is not just a savage prog thing. It's very common in regular content.

This is completely wrong. Using LB3 as soon as it's ready doesn't do anything for you, and in regular content blinding everyone during a mechanic that can kill people is more likely to wipe the group than using no LB at all. Recovering after an LB3 in something like 24 mans happens literally constantly all day and isn't a problem, but if you wipe a 24 man intentionally using RDM LB3 during a mech, you do deserve to be banned for that, as that's blatantly breaking ToS.

It's not about using an ability. There is no reason for them to use it, and then they use it intentionally to kill people. SE does frequently ban people for doing this in other ways, and this is just one more of them that should start being punished if they're not going to make it possible to turn off LB effects.

I would not say they punish people for this frequently, I am still playing. :P That said at the core that is what this is about the use of an ability. The reason an be as simple as well we have LB3 may as well just use it. Sure that is not how it should be done, but the player still was within their right to use LB3 even if it was poor play. Unless their is clear intent to wipe a group which generally is hard to prove when the reality is a player could simply double on being shit.

I doubt SE will start to punish players for playing poorly. Thus, at the core this is why what you are asking is for punishment for simply using an ability during content. I mean maybe you could make a case for trolling and a GM would agree with taking action for spamming abilities near the market board, but that is a different story cause that is hard to hand wave away as poor play. While recuse kills, LB kills, moving boss to face the party, taunting to cause wipes, not healing, not holding aggro etc . . . All of which have been means of how people go about wiping a group.

I do not envy the position GM’s are in, cause sure it might be obvious but still at the core it could be seen they are punishing people for being poor players. Which would never really go over well.
