I suppose I should have mentioned my main point was in agreement with the OP. The dialogue, in all its literary glory, is far too convoluted to be appreciated by most people aside from you and Carraway. To be honest, I really am envious of your ability to appreciate it in its current form. The level of the language is fine, however, something that can be said in one paragraph doesn't need to be said in six.

There was actually a really good lore post a while back explaining the origin of Roegadyn names and language, but the gist of it was Mearlwyb meant "Wife of the Sea" and Bloefhiswyn is her father's name.

What's funny is they go out of their way for 99% of the dialogue to make it as archaic as possible... And then they add shit like HURR DURR ARROW TO DA KNEE X***D SO FUNNI.

I should add that I don't mind the variety of accents or styles (figuring out what the hell pirates are saying is fun at times) it's just how long it takes some NPCs to get to the point really.

Boefhis is "Blue Fish", wyn is "Daughter"

It's actually a naming convention based on earth as we have Johnson and Marysdotter.

The dialogue is less complicated and opaque than Shakespeare and Charles Dickens. I don't find it difficult to read at all. But the fact is that they do say a lot of nothing and ask a lot of questions there are no answers to....

Or, spoken correctly, "To which there are no answers". Part of the reason it's hard to read is they use proper English!

With Hiir's personality, she would likely have used the Echo on the whole lot rather than waste time with fancy words, given the option. Been then that wouldn't be a fun game. :)

The npc's banter to much like when getting another ifrits lamps dude talks for like 12 paragraph's about nothing lol. Just keep the writing the same but stop stretching it out for no reason.

It's difficult to sell your game to a wider audience when its dialogue is aimed at college level Shakespeare.

While I'm not complaining about having it in there every now and then, many NPCs could use a toning down. 3 Paragraphs to describe why a boy got lost in the woods is a bit much.
