FC rank actually isn't a good way to go. It's based on generation of company credits and those are weighted heavily in favor of certain activities while other game content generates little or none.

By myself, I probably generate more company credits each week crafting than a full FC raid static does by raiding. Should that make me more entitled to a FC house than the static? Of course not.

FCs and their members shouldn't be forced into participating in certain content for the sake of owning and retaining a FC house when their actual content interests (other than having the house to share) lie elsewhere.

The FC system in general could use a major overhaul (not just on the housing aspects). It's rooted in content (Grand Companies) that has been largely neglected since ARR (addition of Squadrons being the exception).

SE should have no issue generating a report that lists accounts with characters in FCs that own a house and have 4 or fewer members. Players with multiple shell FCs would stand out.

And no, let's not add any system that allows FC houses to be converted to private houses or vice versa. That would be riddled with abuse. I've already pointed out how FC houses tend to end up the play thing of the FC leaders and maybe a few officers. Let's not give players the ability to use FC funds to purchase what they plan to turn into their personal house while the FC members who paid for it get evicted.

Well, I think the trust system largely obsoleted the squadrons, and without having a perpetual big bad that we can fight against, I'm not sure what use the squadrons would have moving forward. I could see wanting to build them up to being able to field them to a raid... but until there's content that would warrant you leading three squads into combat... I don't see how it would make sense. One thing with housing that would make sense tied to the squadrons (assuming we could ever get it) would be the ability to build and command an airship that acts as your mobile base that would effectively be an instanced house.

I'm getting the distinct feeling like this is SE's last resort, and I'm betting that SE is probably going to deal with this issue by adding in a ton of personal housing so acquisition isn't as painful as it is now. That said, the shell FC issue has got to be dealt with at some point in time especially since it can be construed to be a violation of CoC, specifically considered obstructive behavior ( https://support.na.square-enix.com/f...&la=1&ret=rule )

Well if your FC has a leader that's selfish enough to do that, I think they'd be doing you a service as that act would likely destroy the FC and that wouldn't be an FC you'd want to be part of anyhow.

That said, I would be OK if it was a one-time only time limited thing as an olive branch before harsher penalties came online.

If so, why do you include Japanese players who don't even write in this section? I can't help but notice you made no effort in asking them why they favor smaller FCs. Or better yet, find me extensive posts from Japanese players who show as much disdain for small FCs as you do. The very reason why you can filter servers by Data Center or Region is to provide fair comparisons. You chose to bundle everything together to make it seem like this is a bigger problem than it actually is, when it's hardly a problem in the first place.

I know you like to cry about people who criticize you and how they "put words in your mouth", but you chose the word "we" while also including players that quite simply do not belong or even wish to post here.

I know it wont change your mind because an unfortunate rock must have collided with your cranial structure and has caused irreversible damage.
