Anyone else worried Ishgard housing is going to be a little too gloomy?

I just don't like the idea of allowing existing home owners move first. That's unfair.

People without housing really should get the leg up. Any new housing added is supposed to relieve the burden of not having enough housing, not something special for those that already have one.

Personal, likely unpopular opinion. I'm the person that isn't in a FC, has no plan to be in a FC, and got an apartment for access to chocobo stables.

The firmament is exactly how I pictured post war rebuilding with dragons, ishgard, and how beautiful it turned out to be (because we the players) helped rebuild that entire area. And I love the music more than I do the normal ones. I miss it every time I leave and hear the standard in the other 3 areas lol

Eh, not exactly.
We already have:

1. Arid mountains Goblet
2. Nature-esque Lavender Beds
3. Tropical paradise Mist
4. Temperate Shirogane

I would kill to have one house with snowy, colder weather. ;) Which is exactly what we're missing right now.

On the other hand... I would love to see Crystarium or Amaurotine housing becoming a reality in future expansions.

Yeah, I find it absolutely gloomy and depressing. But as you see from this thread, it's what people who'll move there want.
I personally hate it, so I'll just be staying where I am, it's nice to have something for all tastes. And hey, most plots in the old areas for those of us who don't like gloom and snow.

To me, Ishguard is still the least appealing city-state.
But I am biased, I hate cold weather and church-heavy places XD

I wouldn't consider it to be gloomy, personally. As someone who lives in a region that gets a lot of snow in the colder months I find Ishgard's aesthetics to be pretty comfortable looking and familiar.

We already have multiple housing districts that are brighter, anyway. So having something distinct will be of immense benefit.

I get the sentiment, but anyone that does transfer is leaving behind an empty plot that someone without housing can buy up. So it does still help to get people housing plots either way.

People without houses that specifically want Ishgard housing are losing access to a bunch of plots, lowering their chances at getting one.

It's bad enough the system sucks to where you have to camp clicking furiously for hours. Why they couldn't just instance all of it I'll never know.

Oh, and get rid of grandfathered multiple houses if that's a thing. Hated the goblins that had a house on every alt.

I'd really hoped the houses were going to be more like what you'd see around the Jeweled Crozier- the Tudor style houses, compact but gorgeous with banners strewn across the roofs house to house.
But the ward we have seems to be just random housing placement that doesn't look attractive at all & like there was minimal thought on the placement of each house.
The house designs themselves I do love though & plan to use them.

The sad part is is that trolls that use the Shirogane houses outside of their own housing ward are going to overcrowd it & make it even worse.
Apart of me wishes you couldn't use a house default outside of the ward- that way the trolls who use the Shirogane houses can't use those ugly houses outside of Shirogane.

I plan to move, since there is a giant ugly Shirogane house that blocks my view of my ward which is full of flowery houses & the timber houses & it's beautiful- then there's that behemoth eyesore shirogane house. I likely won't be moving in Ishgard due to those types of trolls. I just want to be away from every Shirogane house.

I love the gloominess of Ishgard, but the supposed housing ward you can look around in is "empty" it doesn't have the same "warmth" or "Effort" as the NPC areas.

Yeah!! I love the exterior but I was hoping for something more compact? I don't like Shirogane BUT I like how some houses are aligned in a certain street-neighbourhood-style. Also the thermal waters were kinda meh for me. I was expecting some snow-related activity, we already have thermal waters in Shiro, but I suppose we gotta have water every ward...

But I'm sure the players are going to ruin the yard with paissas and shirogane castlewalls anyway. :l Which sucks because I'm sure the interior layout will be very pretty. I'm also looking forward for the ward so I can try moving my house away from my shirogane castle wall neighbor.
