Save the Queen is better than Eureka

Is it enough to last until November though.

I'm not complaining that it wasn't nice to not have to slog through it like Eureka but at least that lasted more than a weekend. And yes, I appreciate I can get more weapons... but it's interesting to be torn like this - is it too quick given the length of time we have now until Endwalker?

I think the one thing I miss about Eureka is the bunny FATE spawns which were present and awarded nice rarities. Alongside the fact they had various chests which awarded minions and such, so it always encouraged me to go out of my way in some form. Not only that, I found Eureka to quite honestly be spectacular as far as map design is concerned. But I do otherwise think Save the Queen is better. But then I found this to be the case only because of the spawn pacing of everything for Bozja/Zadnor, and that I could obtain the relics outside of these 2 instances.

I dislike them both for how they sequester you away from the rest of the game. Maybe smaller instances that can be taken in more bite-sized chunks, leaving room to still do other things in the game.

In addendum, Eureka is for FFXI boomers that can't move on.

Caurcas, we don't agree on certain things, but you're spot-on there. I suspect the developers were former XI developers or just had a serious liking for the tedium of old school MMORPGs.

Judging by how rapidly some people are speeding through it I say it'll only last until mid or late July and then inexorably turn into loot farming which won't last. It'll end even more quickly for people who are only in it for 1 to 4 weapons and/or don't care for achievements or loot farming and the achievements don't take that much time to accomplish either. Around 1 to 2 weeks to get the Al ikil mount, if you play for more than 3 hours per day and are absolutely avid about getting the mount, slightly longer if RNG isn't on your side and significantly quicker if you have 5+ hours per day.

Eureka had more fleshed out maps, actual dangerous monsters roaming the world, a real leveling progression, better fate scaling, and just better fates/nms in general. I think the only reason people like Save the Queen better is because they don't actually have to do it for relic, and so they spend less time grinding there.

I finished it in a weekend. I got my weapon. I can't see any point to it now but I'm not saying the design is wrong - just... what do we do now?

That said - I have every job at 80, so yes I can get every weapon - but is that the suggested content?

I'm an XI boomer and Eureka was not XI. It had some of the trappings of older MMOs but completely put in at odds with the modern design philosophy of this game. I know some people disagree with me on that particular point but it is what it is. Eureka was not FFXI.
