That's counterproductive for the base reason to want an invisible mode, which is to go in without people seeing you enter (so they don't say hi, requiring you to either respond or seem rude by ignoring them).

Setting up your chat filter to ignore them by default is not the solution here.

Neither is being invisible if you're still online playing and someone who knows you runs into you standing in Limsa or wherever. It's only going to work if you do nothing but sit in your house or apartment with the door locked.

Have chat hidden plus setting status to Busy does solve the problem. Most people get there are times we don't want to be bothered and they'll respect the Busy status.

But if someone really wants to be avoiding others completely, logging into a MMO is not the way to accomplish it. Better to log into a single player game where there is no one else at all.

Stay logged into the game and go afk when you have to leave, so no one knows if you're actually on or not unless they look at the list.

In seriousness I don't understand why they have this feature without being able to be silenced. In my fc which is comprised of friends, no more then 20, it's not very annoying. But when I started the game and we were in a fairly big fc.... The chat log tbh was kinda annoying when people logged in and out.
