Except you're forgetting about Scarmiglione, who had just as much relevance if not a bit more in the same game and fits the reaper motif a lot more than the sisters do. So I think reaper/necromancer has a bit of a lead up over the sisters in so far as likelihood goes. Of course that doesn't mean much since we're all just spitballing at this point but eh, its still fun to guess.

Because it would be ONE sister... to represent all three are coming, and the sisters are coming is not really a major announcement... especially since they were only part of one archfiend's minions (so its announcing the shadow of the toe of the giant). It also goes in some line with the last major magic type introduced in ShB (creation magic and soul magic, the npc that used soul magic also happening to turn very nefarious looking when they started to do their attack actions - even though they're a good 'guy').
For the fun of the Ranjit concept Ranjit is inspired by Golbez and another guy, Golbez being the leader of the Archfiends. Ranjit trumps sisters.. :P. But honestly I just imagine Ranjit being part of the key inspiration, not saying it's literally his job.
Or what I'm thinking, just as a "hah" moment for Zenos. Is he is, per the in game lore: "is possessed of but a single passion: to stand on the front lines, blade in hand, and dance with death.". How great that he gets to actually dance with a Reaper? Name up for influence, lots of names for psychopomps. Dancing with Cindy just sounds silly :p.
I also feel it could make a wild turning point in our trailer if the Paladin goes Reaper, inverse Cecil- a nice turn on the influences that this expansion is clearly wielding.
I mean.. I guess it /could/ be a sister announcement but that just sounds so very off compared to all the other options possible. Comparing announcing the sisters to Viera seems also a bit off given that sisters are not really that big of a deal meanwhile getting Viera was pretty important to many people.
The concept of psychopomp, again what a reaper is, is why I'm not really sold it references a Judge. Although I would say Judge armor is neat lol, and you probably could make a neat Judge combat job. But I imagine they'd not use a scythe if we were going full imagery here, more like a flail or a huge bludgeon weapon. Of course a lot of these thoughts are all coming from us thinking the weapon will 100% for sure being a scythe... XD. That could be leading us all astray. -

I don't get the people still saying necromancer. During the reveal, Yoshida and Koji Fox said that so far no one was close to guessing what the new jobs would be (as evident when Sage was revealed) and were specifically making jokes about necromancer after saying that.

To carry that on, there are mentions of traveling far and wide, to catch them al... wait wrong line, traveling far and wide and being a shepherd. Repears, or to refer generically psychopomps, would well fit within that as shepherd travelers. Reapers are travelers and shepherds, guiding lost souls. Although if we were going for greek gods I might talk about Nyx, mother to those Fates and Thanatos, linking Azem to Charon is a bit harder than to suggest Nyx.

Sage, like SAM, RDM, GNB, and DNC can be started 20 levels under cap from a city zone available to all without having to worry about progress in the MSQ. I don't see why the 2nd of the new jobs would be any different. The quest NPC for the job will also be in ARR zones for the 70-80 quests and won't be attached to anything that directly ties into the MSQ. I don't think SE will be giving up the twist to players who have outsped the level requirements or who choose to start ShB as one of the new jobs.Quote:

IF (huge if) say this was true (Azem is a soul shepherd in a sense, which kind of fits really, given his special is to call friends from afar), then if SE wanted to label a job with that power as a manifestation of Azem they could do that much later when it was safe to do so. Your issue would be an issue if SE was hyper blatant about it, so... don't be.. lol. Then again the point of the post you quoted was I just wanted to say if you 'wanted' Azem could have hints of a psychopompth-like nature.
Also as Rymi64 points out they weren't trying to say the quote will come around to be used again, more that the quote was already used and to kind of extract it from the conversation as a resource point.
So really I'm just here having a blast connecting dots everywhere and seeding chaos (get it.. Nyx.. chaos.. eh..eh okay bad joke), because.. wEEeweeeEEEeee. Although I still think the shirts have nothing to do with magus, that just seems like a terrible use of 'shirt power'. Especially since we've already decent hints at such a concept, if it is one, via the Ganesh-Cindy a part of another art work.
