A Better Way for Houses Up For Grabs

If the timer was removed we'd be back at the rich players buying up all the empty plots they can find and selling them for profit. The timer makes that impossible to do reliably. A lottery would as well, but it would also allow people to plan their schedules. Do you have an alternative solution for stumping house flippers?

You'd have a house Kira if you got up on time and in world at opening during the ward release. You put yourself into the position of having to roll on timers for demo'd homes. I'm not a fan of the system in the least and as far as I'm concerned limiting it to an hour or two or doing away with it is a lot better than putting your name in a hat with 2000 other people.

A small percentage of people bought up houses for profit/resale. The current system hasn't stopped resale of FC's for profit. No a lottery is bad and only gives a large group of people who wouldn't even bother trying the opportunity to get one putting people willing to work for it with a terrible rng system they have no control over.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion but so am I. And furthermore I think SE has good things for housing planned with the new dedicated housing servers they have yet to install and Ishgard and I'd be willing to bet a lottery isn't part of it.

You can continue to rant about your lack of a house in game and continue to not accept any responsibility for 1) unsubbing and giving up your seaside in Shiro even though your friends warned you it was about to be demolished, and 2) ignoring the advice of friends on ward release day to get in world on time and logging in over an hour after servers went live.

I'm really sorry if your real world obligations interfere with your getting a house but it's also reasonable to expect that you assume some of the responsibility for not getting one or for losing one you owned which I might add one of your friends helped you find. And when it comes to reading I've told you multiple times in this thread, in game, and in other threads that I'm not a fan of the timer.

Pretty sure it was discussed in a live letter. I'm not sure which one it was but it was one of the recent ones and was at about the time they were talking about adding the additional wards.

Ignoring?? Stop with your false accusations and saying things that are not true and think for a second. You make no sense at all if you really think that way. I lost my house so what? It's like a year ago and we are now. I won't let you tell me that it is my fault when SE is to blame. Stop.

We are trying to give solutions but you know as well that they won't remove rng because of sellers so we need another solution.
Instanced housing would solve the problem. They just add wards and it's never enough. I prefer a lottery than what we have now or instanced housing or anything that is not rng clicking placard. Everyone should have a house like we can have apartment. It's not fair only a few are lucky.

I don't recall any mention of dedicated housing servers, though there was this in an announcement:

It's implied that they wanted to add more wards but couldn't because of server capacity issues. I don't know what the server architecture of the game is like, so can't say if new servers would be used for the additional wards exclusively or if they would dynamically serve any game areas.
