Firmament Botting Out Of Control

Looking at some of the Miner scores... +130k points, or higher, per day. That's over 16k points per diadem lockout for a full day. If they miss even one diadem run that 'points per run' increases exponentially. I have friends in it almost all day long, and they don't even hit 90k in a day.

Edit: I ran a full lockout of Diadem on Miner — accumulating 21,226 points (~7100/hr). I went the perception route with heavy use of Hi-Cordials. With full Aesthete's and my melds I can hit Perception and GP bonuses, but not the Gathering bonus. This wasn't a completely optimal run, but it was above average for sure. Hitting 7500 - 8000 points/hr is likely possible for someone that can hit all three bonuses. However, it's questionable if players are managing 6 - 7 runs every single day. So, a daily +130,000 score for MIN/BTN is doable.

It is a valid concern. I saw in chat where someone admitted to account sharing for this and didn't think there was a problem with it.

I'm sure people are botting, but the botting accusations are also totally out of control as well.

I know last I went totally ham with gathering last season and doing about 8-16 hours a day (varied), at about a rate of 7500 points an hour, and I was absolutely livid when a person started talking about me purely based on the amount of points I had gained in shout chat. I was super sleep deprived, super agitated because it was not fun for me to be doing, ended up confronting them in game (we are cool now)... but yeah at the time it was super annoying.

Look, if a crafter was gaining 400k - 500k of points consistently a day, that might be suspect (only based on my current crafting rate of about 21k an hour... and there is probably some better rotation I am not doing, someone said they were getting 25-30k an hour) but otherwise, if you are purely accusing people for botting off of points gained, id say like 300k a day, it's kind of not reasonable because you don't know that persons RL playtimes. Some people torture themselves IRL to get that high score. Gathering is the same. Just take whatever a person's rate per hour is times like 24 hours and then just cut off 8 hours for being a human being.

Point being, just don't flat out accuse people purely based on points unless the point gain is just impossible to do at any human pace. If people are openly talking bragging about botting, then yeah report. If their bot breaks and you see them jumping up and down onto a chocobo in the same spot for 10+minutes, then yeah that person is botting, but yeah please bring some actual evidence into it if you are doing so. I see far too many people cry bot when there is no evidence of it.

I'll say this, it's not botting. There are two paths you can take. Either you macro your firament crafts and hope it succeeds or spend your whole time manually crafting it. I became a saint last time and it was a lot of work. Getting 500k in a few days isn't impossible, it just takes a lot of patience and tenacity. Fishing and gathering are also similar, there are tricks to make the process a bit faster but overall, it's just people who spend all day crafting / gathering. I said to myself last time that I would never again participate. lol

However, I won't say botting doesn't happen, I just think that OP isn't realizing how possible it is to craft 100k+ per day. You can easily do 150k / day, easily if you can tolerate the boredom.

I don't think anyone is surprised.

Crafting/Gathering bots have been out for years.

in my xp, on current rotation/system, pushing more than 30k/hr untenable over long period. mostly when breach 30k, due to good rng, so more like temporary buff, rather than as result of better gameplay, but also requires a lot of focus and im unable to sustain like that over long period. but, i think it plausible to see rate increase 35-40k/hr if sm1 has better system, better priority, better reactions, higher rate of throughput etc. If the rotation can be shortened (eg. reflect if they are able to deal with additional inconsistency) then the result will be faster craft, more craft/hr etc. world's top alc (on ifrit) currently pushing 2.2m, which indicate a rate approx 30k/15h. if slide playtime up/down can see rate adjust, eg. 27.5k/16h, 31.4k/14h etc, if he is not stashing any further points.

xp change how crafter react to poor situation, raising the overall rate of success when viewed as a whole, even if individual craft reach point of failure, will create better probability in big picture.
skill priority + cp efficiency dictate best skill to use in a given situation, or even thing like, which pattern when fishing proc with delineation.

eg 1. you're at 81cp 20/50d, 3 tick of inno remaining. what do u do? spend 3 tick on obs to fish? obs > gs > inno > obs > del x3? prudent > gs > del x3?
answer depends on current quality moreso than any.
eg 2. you've zoned out n overshot min cp req'd, now 72 cp, cannot buff both inno + gs, what do?
if me, i would gs to 40, then fish with del, bc 0 cp, and maybe u get a pliant = 9cp inno, then can obs rather than obs 1st and burn any chance of using a pliant if del after. what if you get a good? do u think it better to take proc with unbuffed gs? or tot it and cast inno?

the time u take to make those decisions influence by xp.
at what point do u sac the craft? what cp/dura threshold considered untenable?
at what point would u consider it not worthwhile to sac a craft that could possibly end in t2? if t3 means double point.

thing like that what xp can answer.

200k/day, even 300k/day is doable...just that it is no longer fun at this point. My rates is around 20k/hour on average so that is 10-12 hours of crafting.
Also note that you can store items for submission the following day. So possible to hit inhuman levels if there is enough storage space.

If someone can sustain say..400k a day for many days, I would suspect a bot. Otherwise...its just that you can't beat the dedicated NEETS.

Guarantee if it was reported, nothing will be done. And that's my entire issue with them right now. Things against the ToS are NOT being enforced even with proof

For anyone denying botting is a serious problem. Two players on Lamia were caught outright admitting to it on discord. In fact, said discord is entirely dedicated to a plugin through ACT that automates nearly everything. Sadly, actually posting the twitter post itself would be counted as name-shaming. Botting like this has become increasingly rampant because everyone knows at this point SE doesn't do a thing about it.

i wonder if the jp side thinks botting is an issue. i wish i knew the language better.
