Is the amount of toxic endgame players growing in FFXIV?

I play both and WoW players don't bash FFXIV all that often at all. Sometimes it's not their thing, but overwhelmingly the game is mentioned in a neutral or positive way if it's mentioned at all.

WoW players are more busy bashing WoW these days.

Pretty much. The people who want WoW to be enjoyable or were invested in the game hate the direction that BFA took things in; and its why a lot of people are actually looking forward to seeing if the dev team are going to start to steer closer to the game people enjoyed when we get to Shadowlands.

WoW is full of homophobia, transphobia, racism, and bigotry. A lot of the players there use hate symbols like Pepe the Frog.

Oddly enough the main place I have encountered toxic behaviour is here on the forums with the near constant negative threads being created by certain people.

Report the thread and the OP for dodging bans, breaking ToS, and move on.

I've been playing this game for almost 7 years. In any MMO or any social platform you're going to find drama queens and toxicity. Does this mean it's acceptable of course not! However, it's definitely become more prevalent and it's a very different world now versus back then. Sometimes I wish I could turn back time.

Indeed, this should be what most people do in cases such as these where the posts and or threads are worded to cause aggravation or griefing.

If the forum mods have the function to hardware ID ban they should be damn well using it. IP bans probably wont work with many ways to mask, or hide those.


I have to say, for all of Slightly Mad Studios faults (makers of the project cars series) they handled trolling and BS posters really well. They took no prisoners when it came to people making topics designed to cause harm or aggravate the forum user base. They had the functionality to check users evading bans with new accounts by seeing the hardware IDs of the PCs being used to create alt accounts and would almost insta ban people that were there to do nothing but cause problems.

I actually don't see much toxicity in this game in my time of playing really. I might eventually though as there is always bad apples in the tree.

FFXIV is a very chill community compared to other mmos. I know it drives those WoW kids absolutely insane but its a straight up fact. The community in WoW is garbage because Blizzard does nothing to stop the blatant disrespect between players. SE would ban most players for that behavior.
