Can I have option to toggle off the Ninja run and Machinist's heated shots?

The Bahamunt thing was a gameplay change because it was messing up with people's view. Thats understandable. The ninja run does nothing for anything and asking animationors to do more work for something that doesn't matter is silly to me. I rather they stay the same and work on things that can hurt actual gameplay. Plus ( and this is me not trying to be rude at all. I guess I'm just stuck in my ways ) But the animations he's talking changing why? People like to say " But it means nothing if I got a switch to only change on my end." Why does the change need to happen at all? It just looks needy to ask for that. I get content like dungeons, raids, glamour or anything that helps gameplay. But this isn't doing any of that. It just feels selfish. " I don't like this animation you worked hard on.. change it because I am me."

However, being able to toggle you egi's into carbuncles is not a gameplay change, it is purely cosmetic like the OP asked for. Also its not asking animators to do any more work, we are asking for access to animations that are already in the game, the rogue animations and the unheated mch animations. Its not asking for any work from animators, its asking for the ability to use something that is already in the game because some people prefer it. Is it selfish when players asked for egi glams because they prefered carbuncle? Or asked for the ability to toggle gauss barrel because they preffered the look without it?

How do we know it won't be asking the animators to do more work? Coding is a bitch - Went to school for game design- And as far as I know it's not just a copy and paste. And even so, I just can't get behind changing the ninja run. I just can't. I don't see the point. I don't know about the mch one you're mentioning cause as far as I know you can't change anything about them now. And yes... I think it is selfish. He's not asking to change them for anyone else but himself. He's not saying " This ninja run needs to be changed because the ninjas commuity says so and we all agree" He's asking it to be changed for selfish reasons. Not a BAD reason but it is selfish.

I don't think they'll honor this anyway. And if they do they do. I don't agree with it and never will but it is what it is. Tho to be fair.... people are STILL asking for Egi changes even with the ones people got. So while I see your point, that's still abit different then changing an entire job's run animation. "Changing an entire job's run animation" is an unqualified statement as if that means more than changing a summoners summons, you're providing a lot of gravitas and importance to something that literally can change depending on which race you play, and has aspects of it changed in updates in the past. In the coding is a bitch case it wouldnt be the animators, and given they can can create these toggles the psudocode for something like that would likely be similar to the current toggles that exists for egi-glams or other such toggles. By this logic you shooting down ops request is also selfish because it is just what you want, the point of forums is to make requests and gauge interest, as someone who's been around the forums and the game for over 5 years, I can say i have seen this requested many times, so it is not simply a demand coming from a single person, also in the case of suggestions like this, even if it is just one dude requesting it, it is literally only a net positive objectively, you can subjectively have whatever reasons you like for not wanting it, but your reasoning thus far has just been "i dun wan it"

If you want reasons I provided that. I feel it's silly but if they really hate those animations then I beleive they should just play another class instead of asking SE to change it. Now we can debate if my answer is fair all day but at the end of the day for whatever reason.. yeah I don't want them to change it.. like at all. But hey if they do it's whatever. Like you said.. it's a forum. And while he's allowed to ask for things I'm allowed to disagree with things if I disagree with them. No matter what the reason is. And yes.. Me and him are asking for selfish things. I don't call it selfish as an insult... I'm being selfish and so is he.

I was just interested in dissecting your thought process, when there's no downside to aggreeing with someone or just leaving it, I'm very keen to know why somone would actively disagree, you can leave it at just "I don't want it" and thats fine, but drilling down to a reason with a good amount of justification would be what I was after with this. Each to their own and all that but again, if theres no downside for something, and theres precedent for similar things happening in the past, Im interested as to why someone would actively say no to that thing beyond just a subjective "nah". You also continually misrepresented OPs argument and weren't correct in other points you made, he's not asking for animations to be "changed" per sey, just more options, you also mentioned stuff like "don't think there' sa game that even does this" when it literally happens in ffxiv, and mentioning how OPs request would put more work on the animators when it does nothing of the such which is why i replied continually to respond to these points.

That last part is not proven. Do you know how they would change it? I don't think it's as easy as you think it is. I don't know tho but you ALSO don't know. So thats why I said that. Changing what the Egi's do is not going to be the same as changing an animation. I promise you it's different. And he is asking for animations to be changed. It's literally what he said in his post. He wants the ninja animation changed. Doesn't matter if he only wants it on his screen.. it's still a change.
