I never mentioned availability, please don't make up arguments i never made. I mentioned that their current system of housing is untenable because they only add bandaid solutions instead of looking at core problems that lead to needing to apply these bandaids.

my biggest wish is that all plots were the same size and the permit you buy is what determines your indoor/outdoor space. Small house means big yard, medium is a fair sized yard, and large was pretty much no yard.

Who thinks that if they instanced the system they would actually get more servers to start? Can't you just see it now hundred of players at the entrance getting an error. Then threads on the forums about not getting in, followed by the it is not SE fault posts. Then after a week depending on if they think it will blow over and they can ignore it they may issue an apology and not fix anything for a couple years if you are lucky.


Also what are the real chances at this point they make a housing system enjoyable for all paying customers? It has been years and years. They have had multiple chances to implement a new system. Even all the slurping media gives 14 they get knocked for a poor system. Short of a hierarchy change somewhere anything more then extra wards and a new housing area feels like a dream.

LOL. Whatever, you made comments on a public forum where information was provided, it was a communication circle, you responded to someone else who was agreeing with me. You misunderstood them, I corrected you.


You also stated at one point that games with the best housing systems are instanced. If you weren't "asking for instanced housing" with that, then why don't you just make your request? Asking them to do something without saying what to do feels like a half-measure on feedback.

You're right. I made comments on a public forum, and you thought you would make everything about you despite the fact i wasn't talking to you at that moment. So yes, get over yourself.
Anyway. Yes, i said that other games that have done housing have done better with instanced housing because it is fundamentally less taxing than the current system we have; i never requested anything of them though. The core of my argument (as i mentioned enough times for you to know) was that they continue to make bandaid solutions instead of looking at core problems.

I think the current system is fine. If you make it so that everyone who wants a house can have a house, then it kind of loses its appeal. SE is doing the right thing. Add a few more plots to account for players population increase, but don't torpedo the system in favor of another where you make it too easy for everyone to buy a house.

They're never going to redo the housing system. It's too established, too many people have houses. They're not just going to demolish them all and start again.

What they need is a new alternative, but that doesn't invalidate existing housing.

They need to expand apartments.
Medium and large apartments, with instanced gardens.

And everyone and their mothers would just create their own FC, level it up and get a house, solving absolutely nothing but making it more of a pain to obtain a house and limit their options besides. This is a terrible idea, and that is a massive understatement.

So, for sake of argument, if they did (hypothetically) create a housing system where everyone could get a house; you would no longer be interested in having a house? This is an honest question and i would love an honest answer; and i'd love to know your reasoning for whatever answer you give.

The fact that they have to pause an actual in-game mechanic just shows how flawed the housing system is. It is a nice gesture but obviously it would be better if we instead had a system in which real life issues could not make you so easily lose your house.

While I would adore a proper full fledged instanced housing system I think at this point it's unlikely we will ever see it in this game. I think SE feel they're too deep in the ward system to change it. At most we would get an additional type of housing that would exist alongside the current ward system. I would be shocked if the entire housing system got a massive overhaul.

If SE would at least improve apartments so that all features are accessible with both houses and apartments then the situation as a whole would be better. Players would not be locked out of certain content just because there are no houses available. In their current state apartments are vastly inferior to houses. They're almost useless to fcs, the furnishing space is very small, there is no outdoor area, and you cannot engage in the entire gardening feature because you can't crossplant. It's no surprise that even with apartments so easily available that houses are still in such high demand.

I remember when apartments came a lot of players expected some sort of balcony. I did too. They are called "apartments". But what we got were just fc rooms with a chocobo stable. They're basically studio flats. Better than nothing but still not very good.

I really wonder at what point will SE finally realise they're going to end up adding wards forever if they don't ever improve apartments. It's been so many years now. They have ample feedback. And still nothing has really changed : /

I know this wasn't directed at me but I think I speak for a lot of people when I say the idea of everyone being able to have a house would not make me love my house any less.
