Because that's where the new sole survivor come in which doesn't hurt drk mp resource and also help the healer.
I planed the fix by reduce the resource required for LD and also asking for new resource which aid both drk and healers instead of exhausted the resource we have even more. The way I try to fix this is different than your.

Soul Survivor would end up being used as part of the mitigation rotation, (20% bonus healing plus 30% of your HP restored? That's better than Clemency) so you can't guarantee that it would be available to use just before you need to hit LD.
Plus you need to use SS before LD or that 30% HP heal won't save you, so your invuln becomes 2 buttons... that you need to hit in a pinch. Surely that's making things more complicated?

That's exactly what it is, outside of Savage/Ultimate.

Within Savage/Ultimate all of these draw backs aren't a problem, because everything is planned out to the second and you and your party should know what to expect and when.
Your healer will know exactly when they need to heal you to full, so it all just becomes another 'mechanic' to address.

Saying that GNB can heal themselves is a bit of a fallacy, as the only source of healing that GNB has is Aurora. At most you'll get 3 ticks of Aurora during Superbolie, which on average is around a 5 or 6k heal. That's 15-20k HP maximum that your own source of healing is regenerating during your invuln's duration. Bosses in EX/savage auto attack for far more than 20k. No, the only tank who can bring themselves from the brink of death during their own invuln (not counting PLD because you take no damage and it costs nothing) is WAR with their three sources of, and this is important here, BURST healing. Invulns are almost all designed to be used in conjunction with a healer. That DRK is no different to this is not an outlier; it makes PLD and Hallowed Ground the outlier.

The constant comparisons between Living Dead and Holmang and Superbollide are highly disingenuous.

You are by no means required to receive a cumulative 100% of your HP in heals, making them far easier to manage than Living Dead.

WAR also, as previously mentioned; has plenty of options to carry themselves out of the ballpark of death.

WAR absolutely can restore themselves up. Maybe not to full, but after my WAR uses HG in E8s the healers never touch him, he just heals himself back up to like 70-80%.

Stalwart soul is not a Lv 54 skill, tbh we get out AOE rotation way to late

Don't miss the point. What make DRK an outlier is how DRK have no resource except soul eater and AD to heal themselves while still taking damage during 10 secs of walking dead invul.

It just hp don't go below 1 and KO so the hp restored by healing can go back to 1 if attack continue during walking dead invul while healer can't stop healing or hold out the healing till the last second or heal too late either because they need to purge the debuff within 10 secs before debuf count down from 10 to 0 unless that healer have the benediction. If healer heal up to 100% earlier they can end invul prematurely by accident too. Putting the burden solely on the healer.

Meanwhile Superbolide reduce hp to 1 and then GNB became truely invincible taking no further damage while Supersollide is active so they can start healing themselves with aurora and brutal shell and get to keep that hp they restored and any healing the healer gave them would stick till Superbollide end. This is why how people say they've exp playing drk meant nothing to me.

No good DRK using LD without planning ahead. If you intended LD to be a panic button the fault is not mine. Also if LD is used as a panic button outside of savage/ultimate then you can see how DRK would have easily died because they didn't plan to reserve enough MP like you planned.
