I'd say make it 80 potency so it pays back a ruin2 weave - also making AF heals cost 160 instead of 230 which is much more reasonable.

lol. Because what SCH needs right now is more MP. Oh yeah.
Not a more interesting DPS rotation, naah, that needs to be slashed further. Gotta need MP to rez all those DPS getting oneshot from avoidable damage. /s
Using ED right now gives 10 Fairy Gauge. So this is a flat out nerf. On the healing job that is, right now, at the bottom of both rDPS and HPS charts.
Ah damn it, just remove Biolysis, Ruin II and Art of War while you're at it. Make Broil III an instant-cast AoE and bake all SCH potency in it.
Sure, that'll make for a good SCH. They'll finally HEEAALL. Inbetween Netflix and wishing to play literally anything else. /s
This is a somewhat saner suggestion. But it means single-weaving an ED is no longer a DPS gain. So if there's no healing to be done (solo content anyone?), you'll be spamming Broil + Biolysis until you rightfully ragequit to another job. Even WHM (Assize, PoM) and AST (cards) wouldn't reach a boredom level this bad.
It would be useful even if Ruin + ED equal potency to Broil. Being able to keep full damage output while moving 1-3 times per minute (depending on healing requirements) isn't insignificant. I like the idea of turning excess Aetherflow into mobility rather than pure damage, though I think something that functions like a shorter duration Lightspeed (4 secs, perhaps) may work better for it.
energy drain exists as something to do when you dont need healing. making it do 0 damage and just give mp doesn't solve anything and makes the job way more boring
I made a thread a few months back with a whole bunch of suggestions here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-Healer-Rework
Haven't really got much feedback on them though :(
Some healing skills having DPS opportunity costs isn't a bad thing. In fact, its often a good thing.
It gives the healing kit some depth, as otherwise you could just press any OGCD healing button (this was really apparent with 5.0 SCH).
There has to be some tradeoff. For instance using Sacred Soil or Indomitability will cost you 150p worth of DPS yes, but it is still your best option if all of your zero-DPS-skills are on cooldown. Recitation, Fey Blessing, Whispering Dawn and Seraph all have longer cooldowns than SS or Indom. So while yes they cost less in terms of DPS, they're available less often. You'll use them first, then fall back on AF-based skills. The same logic applies with GCD skills. Party gonna get wiped out and you're out of AF and fairy skills? Time for Succor to shine.
Keep opportunity costs please.
I'd even prefer to see more of them instead of less. They require decision making and weighing your options, they leave room for optimization.
Yes, using lilies or af heals is a dps loss over other ogcds but it's something you gladly accept when other options are even more of a dps loss like having to cast succor. Trying to find that sweet spot where you can cast as much ED as possible without simply dumping all the responsibility on the other healer is perhaps the only thing that's still fun in a world full or broil, broil, broil..
