    Some Healer Rework

I'm not entirely sure why my last thread got removed,
but anyway I had this healer rework idea I wanted some feedback on.

    Google Docs link

Thanks! (and sorry if I offended anyone with my last thread )

Didn't make it in time for the previous thread so glad you made another because I like what I read on Scholar: While unsure how'd it play tying the damage recieved/dealt debuffs to damage skills, dots no less, as I'd might hold off putting on Virus or Biolysis until either I was ready to apply more or the boss was winding up an unavoidable attack, I'm very interested in the new way to manipulate dots and chain strat being useful as it would mean being on the the lookout for oppertunities to use them. Same goes with making skills available at lower levels, both the restorative, mitigating and pet ones. Making Dissipation reset cooldowns does bring a new way to look at it that actually ties in where most of our healing comes from, remains a way to regain AF quick and now gives something else to use it on. Selene coming back is always a plus, as is the idea to swap Fey Caress and Fey Covenant.

Gambit and the return of Rouse really sounds like what Fey Union should've been, with Union just being backwards thinking in what can be achieved with having a healing partner on the job.

Would love to see even lower cooldowns on the skills even if it meant slightly weaker effects. Aswell as Seraph becoming more than a temp summon and all three fairies becoming mortal.

Sorry to hear your thread got deleted. By chance I still had that one up in a previous tab on this browser: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-Healer-Rework. There's a link that lets you "notify the administrator", but that one says you have no permission. So it remains a mystery.

If I'd wager a guess it was the "shitty" word. On the bright side, that means there are actually community managers visiting here on the odd hours. On the dark side, it might just be a very slow bot or it means they only skim thread titles looking for naughty words and don't read the threads themselves. Because I've been trying to put in a sailor's vocabulary where I can in hopes of inducing some kind of human response that isn't "neglect", but I should've put it in the titles instead.

WHM in this rework is better than SB's and ShB's WHM, but not good enough to make someone consider a WHM over a SCH or AST.

How so? This rework's WHM boasts way more damage (pDPS) than SCH or AST, and the short GCDs via the Lily rework make regens a lot more efficient to use.
It is a lot more flexible and reactive healing and DPS wise than AST and SCH, and has decent mitigation and utility. Or so it seems to me anyway.

Reading this made my head hurt a little. I cant say I don't understand why you had some of these ideas, but a quick glance makes it appear tha a good amount of the skills are using the "rule of cool", which doesnt always translates into effective. It can be tough to find the balance between, "boring but practical" and awesome but impractical".

I'll need time to formulate a full on assessment of what you've done. Since you deserve that much effort put into it since you put in that much effort yourself.

I will say one thing however. Your version of Protect is just a "reskinned" version of Stoneskin basically. And since that was removed because of its lackluster use, and replaced with Devine Benison, I'd say a rework for your Idea might be in order.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

According to https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Stoneskin, Stoneskin was a 10% max HP shield on a single target, while my rework's Protect is %-based mitigation for whole party. Stoneskin II (https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Stoneskin_II) does not seem to fit either (SS2 seems out-of-combat only with a looong cast time).
Doesn't really seem like a reskin to me...

I think you missed my point on the matter, but no worries.

One thing I will say, that I forgot to before. Yet another SCH rework and no Meltdown, grrr...

I am confused, since I only know the spell from 6 and 8 and I don't see the connection.

    Is this an 11 thing?

Sorta, and the really odd thing is I never played 11, lol.

But basically, Meltdown or Kaustra as it was called in English, for God knows what reason, was a very powerful DoT and Scholar's strongest damage dealing spell. It's something that, has been retroactively thought of as a SCH specific skill since it was unique to them. Sorta like Flare is for BLM, Holy for WHM, Dualcasting for RDM, etc.

I'm afraid I am not familiar with FFXI, but if it had a long cast time and/or gave a debuff, we could just rename Critical Vulnerability for Meltdown. Under this rework Critical Vulnerability is SCH's strongest hitting move, and is a DoT.
