Those can still be purchased using yellow scrips (both crafters' and gatherers's). Heck, even the old Favor system is still in place. The system that was initially used to obtain some of those materials.

I mean, sure, Ishgard housing hasn't been officially confirmed. And Restoring the Firmament will likely take the entire expansion, meaning that the housing (if it were to be implemented) would probably be available somewhere around 6.0.

But would you really call this a coincidence?

It looks like it's gated in such a way that it will take like a year of patches before completion is even a thing

the turn in guys will probably still be there but by then no one will care anymore or they might just move them to the new diadem thing to keep the housing area the same as the rest

Like what I was reading what someone else was saying I wouldn't be surprised if housing for Ishgard doesn't come until last patch for 5.0 or even 6.0

They have never trolled like that, but I do know people who are in denial like to say "they are just trolling" though. SAM/RDM is datamined? "SE is just trolling the dataminers!" (They have never trolled dataminers). Lore is written up as if it is giving excuses about why male vieras are going to be missing and then male Viera are no show at the Fanfest that announces viera? "Male Vieras are totally coming! Yoshi-P is just trolling like he always does!".

Considering all the items added and the effort they went to even new items in gathering nodes i think it shall remain (I hope)
Just glad we could still turn in, the exp is rather big.
Hopefully future content they could implement something similar as it really does bring the community together and is positive. Perhaps Mor Dhonuts can finally get reworked?

I've seen that map, someone has made an assumption and others have carried it forward in desperate hope that it is true. If you have noticed all housing districts have certain characteristics, this has none of those characteristics. Add to that SE would never add housing for players in this manner, having the playerbase build 1 area up then put the district the entire community just worked and invested in up for sale to a few lucky players who can get up at 5 in the morning and race to the few desirable plots. If they wanted to lose 80% of all of their players and commit harikari afterwards they would do this. For the sake of sanity, and faith in SE I have no choice but to say all claims that this is a player housing district are incorrect, SE is trolling us hard to make us want to invest in this content and hope like hell that i'm right. IF this is a housing district as people hope, then Doman enclave, Mor Dhona, and Idyllshire must follow suit open up that housing there is no excuse not to.


Imagine the uproar, if after a year plus of leading us along to complete the area SE came out and said congratulations. "Now Ishgard housing will be available but only to FC's at first, we may make housing available to players at a later date." A large, medium or small house still costs the same but we built that why is it restricted and why do we have to pay for it? When SE builds and designs a housing district they can make these kind of restrictions we have no assumed ownership so people don't question it. They simply lament their luck and hate their lives a bit more. But when everyone worked to build that, spend hours in the field gathering for it, spent money and time and energy to build it SE thinks they own it, the community thinks they own it, this will not end well. But don't worry SE will put a huge uninhabited Apartment there so you can purchase an FC room to put all your yard furnishings SE keeps giving you for holiday events.

I had NOT seen this map before this point, and if it hasn't been photoshopped or something, and those square areas are really there in the design of the zone (indeed, if all this geometry is actually IN the zone - the entirety of what we can currently access is just that tiny chunk in the west middle!), it really does look like the layout for a residential district. I was skeptical of the idea of Ishgard housing, but that skepticism has taken a hard blow with this. I'm not sure what "characteristics" you're referring to that aren't there, but it looks pretty feasible to me.

That said, if folks are right, and this IS Ishgard housing - it's pretty darned ugly. Folks complain about the Goblet, but compared to this, the Goblet is downright scenic. Even after we clean it up, what do we have to look forward to? Austere grey stone everything, with yawning cloudy chasms. If we were going to get Ishgard housing, I was hoping for something more along the lines of a snowy cliffscape overlooking a magnificent view (not just clouds). Maybe a really steep one; a housing area that's more vertical than horizontal would be interesting.

Adventurers don't just get housing. They get the very BEST housing. For some reason. Getting a ghetto barely removed from the Brume seems out-of-place.

Additionally, if it is Ishgard housing, what happens to the Firmament crafting area once it's officially released? Will it come to an end? Or will there still be an area you can go to to craft turn-ins?

What characteristics are you talking about? Just based on the picture alone you can see 3 L houses and 7 M. And that's something in every housing district. The way the plots are lined up also resembles housing districts in a significant way. Each plot has its area for outdoor furnishings. The Doman enclave does not look like that at all. If SE was to say this is an NPC housing at this point, then they deserve all the backlash they will get for making it a carbon copy of a housing district. This isn't like the Viera and Hrothgar situation where they did say in the past that they might make female Viera and and another male race. So those that hyped themselves up over that, despite SE never making any promise to make them, should only blame themselves.

Regarding your point for the restoration, no one forced people to participate. Anyone participating thinking that it's a free housing for them is very delusional and deserves the disappointment. Because this is where you can play the "they didn't promise a free housing for everyone" card.

You could tell this was a player housing zone as soon as they showed the image of the area in the last live letter. It has houses crowded together and on different elevations. They do that to give the house owners better views, but it comes at a cost. Have you ever tried ruining across a housing ward? Its annoying to try to run into all those house plots that block you from going through in more straight path, and figuring out what elevation you want to get on. So why would they make a zone annoying to navigate through just so the NPCs could have good views from their houses? It doesn't make any sense.

You keep saying they would do this to troll, but give no examples of them ever doing such a thing. Is this about male viera? They didn't troll you with male Viera. The Ivalice lore flat up told that male viera are never seen by outsiders.

It doesn't make sense to mislead players into thinking they will get something. The devs don't even want to talk about stuff too early in development because things can change, and players angry and think they were lied to if things turn out different that was seen in early development. People got mad just because they assumed dancer had to be healer, and Yoshi-P even said maybe next time they will reveal what roles the new jobs are ahead time to avoid this. So why would they mislead players by making a zone that looks like a player housing zone?

Did people even read the quest text?

Before you start it all, Edmont de Fortemps comes up to say hello, and gives the guy in charge of the project some "food for thought" in mentioning that every other city-state has a district for adventurer-exclusive purchasing. There's even a dialogue option for "yes, I own a house in one".

The map layout also clearly resembles a housing ward, as well.

Honestly, if they went through all this trouble to make a player-participating event where adventurers are to rebuild this housing area, and it resembles a player housing area, and the npcs hint at the existence of other housing areas, and they *don't* make it a player housing area in the end? I would be extremely surprised, and I imagine the outrage would be much higher than what people are saying for the opposite.
