But FC members can already do that now and if they don't like how an FC is run or that profit isn't shared they can leave and go to another FC. SE did stop multiple FC house ownership until they realized that if someone is in an FC that owns a house, even if the member wasn't the FC owner or even a leader, that if they had an alt in another FC (again not even the FC owner) that didn't yet own a house, that FC couldn't buy one. Which was a problem.

I understand where you are coming from regarding the multiple FC house owners. If there was a real option of instance housing that FC or individual could own yes that would fix the issue and everyone can have a house.

Bottom line this isn't really a player issue. This is an SE issue they created by limiting housing. They just need to open up instance housing (not apartments, real housing).

That won't change anything. People hang out in places like Eulmore because it's convinient (all traders, etc are there) or Limsa because it's social (lot's of players there). There aren't that many communications in a FC (at least from what I see), so few people gather at the FC house.

Theres no reason to hang out at a FC house instead of current_hub_city.

One of those has relevant vendors and turnin npc's, and one of those is an instanced zone that doesnt.

If we could get items for our houses that kept us from having to stay in those cities (similar to SWTORs system, where the only thing I CANT do from my apartment is daily quests) FC housing might be relevant.

You cant even log out and back in without being kicked outside.

Upon further review, as well as listening on on peoples thoughts in-game, it seems the problem is even worse than I realized, and demands a fix sooner rather than later.

A single person should not own over 70 houses on a single World.

I would regret owning a house in a Ward or Subdivision only for it to consist of one other player.

I suppose i'm in the minority who couldn't care less about owning a house as long as they gave everyone an equal opportunity to gardening.

Allow us to have 4 flower-pots in apartments or even inn's for all i care, just don't force someone to buy a mansion to maximize ones profits from crafting.

Honestly, I have a home to garden (though lately haven't been doing much of it). They have "instanced" housing by way of apartments and FC rooms, but they are incredibly small, limited, and offer no way to garden. If they gave me an option to say, upgrade my apartment from the small to something larger (not saying have a full blown medium sized house, but maybe like 4-6 FC room size, or like the first floor of a medium house) AND include a patio where I could garden, I would gladly relinquish my plot so that an FC can have it instead. I feel this would help out a lot in terms of the housing issue. Locking content behind home ownership knowing they would only have limited spacing available was a TERRIBLE idea.

I don't understand why they can't offer an option for those FC's without a home to say, "rent" a workshop so that they could still have access to the content, without having to have a home. Isn't that the main reason why one person buys up multiple plots to begin with? Stop locking the content behind home ownership, give those that have small apartments an option to upgrade their space AND include a patio. This will alleviate a lot of the problem.

EDIT: Thinking about it a little bit more now, instead of having a "patio" the apartments install a sort of "community garden" and ofc, you exiting out your patio leads you to your own garden so you can plant and crossbred whatever you like.

What if you're relinquishing it to an FC that already has 70 plots?

I have no idea how they would implement this but they need to "flag" FC houses that the group becomes inactive or the population becomes lower then 3 (the needed amount to start an FC), then send out a warning before demo. The neighborhood i own a personal medium in has a large house that sits and rots; it's not decorated and only two people are in the FC. But someone apperently logs in before timer runs out and refreshes it.

Please reread my statement and try again. I feel like you clearly missed the key point of my argument. Implementing a sort of NPC that gives access to the FC's without a home the content home ownership is locked behind will help deter the situation significantly, as it is typically the main reason as to why these individuals buy multiple plots to begin with. Will it solve the problem completely? Absolutely not, no solution is capable of that. The best we can do is try and find a way to make what we have with the current system work by providing suggestions, and we've been asking for these sorts of changes for years now.

When private home ownership became available, a lot of people were crying foul at the fact that FC content was locked behind home ownership, and were arguing that private individuals shouldn't buy houses so they don't hurt a collective group of people (that didn't go over well). Why SE simply cannot (or just adamantly refuse) simply just to implement these small changes that opens up the content to everyone is beyond me.

I also feel that, with Ishgard housing right around the corner, and the fact that many people are putting forth a lot of effort to gain access to these wards, that SE should find a way to limit the FC's that can transfer to the new wards. We know how SE does ban waves for bots since, by their logic, they do not want the botters to figure out why they got banned? I propose they do something similar, like making it so that in order for an FC to transfer to a new ward, that they have to have a certain amount of members, or points, a combination of the two or something, yet not announce it. I am sorry if my opinion is harsh, but FC's with 2 or 3 members shouldn't have access to the new wards once they come out. 90% of them are either bot or owned by a single individual.

Adding more wards is fine and all, but until SE is ready to start putting in a bit more work to try and counter these individuals' behavior, then adding more wards will simply continue to exacerbate the issue.
