What game were you playing when you wrote this? o.O

The gunner class in the monster hunter series has this feature as well, they shoot bullets packed with herbs and other items that cause an effect such as healing and status effects while still having bullets that do just damage. If this idea was put into the game you would pretty much have a red mage that uses arrows instead of a sword.

On topic, though. If they introduced a bow that increased song enhancements in some way then it would probably put into wide use, but I'd still gear-swap for a DPS bow once everyone had their songs up.
