Datacenters yes, but no for region please. The ping would be crazy high. PF would be better but i am not sure about DF. Just means on average the dps queues would be higher.

I would like to see them resolve or at the very least have a consistent impact on the actual rmt/bot issue first. Hunts atm are a mess with people sniping A/S ranks on other servers not to mention how crappy it is that the hunts don't have a render priority. I would recommend they look into server stability first and try removing instances in servers and increasing the load to 1000 ppl first before they even try merging data centers because lets be real their servers aren't the greatest.
I believe that the pros far outweigh the cons, but I still get to deal with the "Why do you have more than 1 character when you can be everything & there's cross-server play?"
Not a bad idea, but I wonder how they'll keep the connections stable while making everything cross data center.
Its EXACTLY what they needed to do before the debacle that was the NA datacenter split.
It was also the thing I assumed they would try and implement as soon as possible after that (Regional Party/duty finder, then global, then global market boards, then regional world visit, then global world visit).
People like playing with their friends, and people like being able to play with their friends without giving up FC's or housing they've already established.Quote:
FFXIV is instead growing, so I wonder what the motives would be.
See the resulting chaos of the NA datacenter split for why they would want to do this.
Yes yes yes. For Australia, we already have bad ping no matter where we go.
Maybe removing data centre restrictions will open the gate finally for an OCE server.
I left Primal because of the type of people that seem to congregate there, so I'd really rather not encounter them again. There should be limitations. Like cross-DC PF or something, but not DF.
